We stayed at the Boardwalk last January, and the pool stayed open, but the lifeguard leaves early. They also close the slide when the lifeguard leaves, which in January, Im thinking was 8pm. I just remember my kids being so disappointed that they waited so long to stay here and go on that awesome slide, only to have it closes everynight. The pool bar was also not open anytime after getting back from the parks!! I dont know when you are going, but maybe that was 'offseason hours'.We are used to the all stars and pop, where the lifeguard is there until 10, and the pool bar stays open until 1am.
Another thing we didnt like ( there were 21 of us staying there -5 families) was that there wasnt anything convenient for eating after the parks. Again, we are used to the all stars and they have the huge food court open until 11 pm. BW had a pizza window and bakery. Thats all that ever seemed to be open without going to a sit down restaurant.
The hotel is beautiful and the location is our favorite!! We rented DVC points for January and got a great rate too ( although when you do that, you dont get daily towels or mousekeeping, so that was tough with 5 of us)
We loved walking to and from Epcot. THe boardwalk at night is really pretty. Too bad there arent any value resorts over in the Epcot area!
