hi,
may i ask how did you get that rate and when are you going?i ask because,if it is a possibilty i might be albe to get that rate too and what month/time frame is it good for?i would say going from value to that you should be very happy and you will have a blast.have fun planning!!

That is great for you! I think you'll convert. Haha! We tried a nite @ ASMO and I can only say never again. We have stayed at the AKL,GF and up next the Poly! I think you will truly love it!

Wow, what a great rate...I would love to know how you got such a great rate, I would love to stay at the BW.

We stayed at the Boardwalk last January, and the pool stayed open, but the lifeguard leaves early. They also close the slide when the lifeguard leaves, which in January, Im thinking was 8pm. I just remember my kids being so disappointed that they waited so long to stay here and go on that awesome slide, only to have it closes everynight. The pool bar was also not open anytime after getting back from the parks!! I dont know when you are going, but maybe that was 'offseason hours'.We are used to the all stars and pop, where the lifeguard is there until 10, and the pool bar stays open until 1am.

Another thing we didnt like ( there were 21 of us staying there -5 families) was that there wasnt anything convenient for eating after the parks. Again, we are used to the all stars and they have the huge food court open until 11 pm. BW had a pizza window and bakery. Thats all that ever seemed to be open without going to a sit down restaurant.

The hotel is beautiful and the location is our favorite!! We rented DVC points for January and got a great rate too ( although when you do that, you dont get daily towels or mousekeeping, so that was tough with 5 of us)

We loved walking to and from Epcot. THe boardwalk at night is really pretty. Too bad there arent any value resorts over in the Epcot area!

Just wondering too (if you don't mind revelaing) how did you get such a great rate??

Sounds like it might be a CM rate. We loved the Boardwalk when we stayed there last year! Have fun!!

No its not a cm rate......I rented points from a DVC member for $10 each. The studio rate is only 12 points per weeknight (staying Tues thru Fri) even got a water view for that its even cheaper with a standard room.........GO TO THE DVC BOARD ON THE DIS......PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO RENT POINTS THERE

I am SOOOOOO jealous!!! :earboy2:

We went to WDW in September for our very first visit (and wedding and honeymoon)...and we stayed at the Boardwalk!

OMG!!! I'm sure all the other resorts are lovely, and maybe someday we'll try others, but we loved the Boardwalk SOOOO much that, for now, we can't imagine staying ANYWHERE else!!

I love the location, the boardwalk at night, the food choices...to me it was pure Disney wonderful!!!

Have a great time! :)

The only drawback is the reservation is nonrefundable, one change only per the owner renting us points.
So whether DH has a job or not, i am still going to BCV in May even if we have to drive.
Reservations was initially made last February.

You'll love the Boardwalk Villas--you won't want to go back to value after that!

If you are travelling without kids (or can get a night out without the kids), make sure you check out Jellyrolls Dueling piano bar on the Boardwalk! It's awesome. If you see Scotty, tell him Karen from Boston sent you.

And Spoodles is a great place for breakfast. And the meatball subs at the pizza window are awesome.

Good points. There are definitely bargains to be had with renting points but with that bargain come some risks. This is a private agreement between 2 people and Disney will not be involved should their be any problems.

Each owner decides their rental agreement so if anyone decides to do this, just make sure you are in total agreement with each other. Also there is a huge element of trust so pick wisely. This person holds your vacation literally in their hand. Very few have problems, but some do.

Also as the OP noted the bargains are to be had on Sunday-Thursday stays as points are much higher on Fridays and Saturdays.

Also except for Old Key West be sure you know a studio has one queen bed and sofa sleeper.

In our studio room, we had one bed, one sofa bed and a "day bed" which looked like a big bench. LOL.

Be aware that when you rent points off a DVC member, that you will NOT receive daily maid service, NOR will you get clean towels every day. I thinkt the maid comes on the 4th day to empty garbage and leave you more towels. You will get 4 towels and washcloths if there are 4 of you. Thats it. We brang up towels from the pool area. BUt the day the maid DID come to bring us towels, she took all our spares from the pool. There will be a vacuum in the closet though and you can do the floors yourself. There IS a free laundry room on the bottom floor near the gym that we really took advantage of in January. We were constantly washing clothes.

Although our group of 21 loved the BW and REALLY loved the location, we are still heading back to the values this coming January. We are getting 2 rooms at POP.

It is a great deal and you will have a fantastic time in a BWV studio. Only problem is, you may only want to stay in deluxe resorts from now on - or worse still, you may even want to purchase dvc!
