I'm wondering if the price difference is worth it going from value resort to a moderate resort?

Whether it's worth it or not is only something you can decide. Here is what you will get with a moderate over a value.

Bigger room
Double sink
Queen beds (except for CBR)
Pool slide
Hot tub
Multiple covered bus stops
Sit down restaurant
Lusher landscaping
Bike rentals
Boat rentals

We usually decide what the "focus" of the trip is - do we plan to spend all day every day in the parks? Value resort. Do we plan to spend a couple of days or more (equivalent) relaxing, swimming, enjoying amenities at the resort? Moderate resort. No reason to pay for something we won't be there to use.

Like PPs said it depends on what you can afford, how much time you will be spending at the resort and what amenities you desire.

The mods all have pools with slides and most have queen beds (CBR being the only one to have full).

Me personally, I would stay at a mod - I like everything extra that comes with it.

I have nothing against values though - and plan on staying there one day...

Yea it's up to you but I would do a mod. We are looking into staying POR. The grounds look beautiful and a boat can take you to Downtown Disney.

I think it really does depend on you.

For my family... no, the mods aren't worth the extra price. We are the strange people who actually love the value resorts. We love the theming and the very informal atmosphere. We don't need a lot of amenities, just a fun, clean hotel with a nice pool. And that's what we get at the values.

We used to think that the price difference between a value and a moderate was too great for the difference in the resorts. We had stayed value and had stayed deluxe. Then one wonderful trip, we somehow let a CM talk us into her favorite resort which was a moderate. We LOVED it. Now I am not saying we will never do a value or a deluxe again...but most of our trips are now at CSR. A perfect compromise for us.

Depends on what value? The AOA is not offering discounts on the Little Mermaid rooms but the others have the discount starting tomorrow. The moderates are with the exception of POFQ. I originally had the AOA booked and then moving over to the POR Royal Rooms. The difference in prices from AOA to POR was only 10.00 per night. But, the AOA room I was in did not have a discount. I say moderate with the new discount out JMO.

Like others have said, it really depends on what you want out of the resort. We have two, sometimes three, days that we spend a good bit of time at the resort and taking advantage of the resort amenities.

Another big "plus" at the moderates are the bigger rooms and the covered bus stops. The bus stops at the values are one line for each park and they are not covered. I know that it may sound silly to some but I do not want to stand in a line to catch a bus in the mornings. I do enough line standing in the parks.
