With the recent thread posted about value vs. mod, I would like to see if that holds true among all posters.

I for one would always choose a moderate resort.

I don't have an "absolute" answer to this. The kids and I are doing 4 nights at POFQ this year, though they would have loved to go back to Pop (we did one night there last summer). I chose POFQ because I have wanted to try it, but if it hadn't been available, I would have been OK with Pop.

The things that make me prefer the mod over value are: refrigerator, coffee maker, pool slide, and 2 sinks.

It depends on our budget. I'd rather stay at a moderate, but if we're on a tight budget then we'll do a value.

Personally, it depends on the type of family. Since we are a family of four, the values can be a little tight for us. Now, if it were just me and my husband, we would probably do a value every once in awhile.

I love the mods, especially POR.

I will pick value every time. I really really dislike the internal bus stops at the mods you get on and make stop after stop or the busses are full by the time they reach your stop and you have to wait for the next bus. At the values there is one bus stop you get on and off you go. Sure at park closing the lines for value busses are long, but they keep the busses coming and the lines move fast.

Also the mods are really really spread out, so if you are staying in a building far from the food court, you have to take a bus or walk half an hour. The values are large but the building are closer together the walk from the farthest building is not as far as the walk from the farthest buildings at a mod.

I will not stay at a mod again, it is value or deluxe for us.

I just dont see the cost/benefit of the mods over values. If I am going to spend more, I stay in the deluxes.

It depends on how much money I have to spend, and what I expect to get out of my trip.

If I am on a tight budget and want to spend as much time in the parks as possible, I will go Value. If I want a more relaxed trip, but don't want to spend a small fortune, I go Moderate. If I want a truly relaxing trip and have a little extra money, I will go Deluxe.

Mods (CSR) all the way!! Don't know of any values where I can get a prime rib or rib eye steak at the food court.

Depends. We usually stay at Values, but last weekend there were no Values available (we planned the trip at the last minute), and the Dolphin was actually right around the same price as a Moderate, so we chose the Dolphin. It's basically a Deluxe for Moderate prices.

If we were planning a long stay, I would probably be more likely to pick a mod over a value because there's more things to do at moderates (renting boats, hanging out at the piano bar, etc.). But for our frequent short weekend trips, when we spend almost no time in our room except for sleeping, values are great!

However, if the Dolphin is the same price as a mod, I would choose the Dolphin EVERY time--DH and I spend 90% of our time at Epcot, plus we love all the water views, the fun decor, choice of restaurants, the boat ride to Epcot and MGM, and of course the Boardwalk.

I've been going to Disney for years and I have had a chance to stay at all levels for resorts. I think the deals were much better in the past to stay at the higher price resorts including deluxe. I even did conceirge a few times with a deal.

I rather use the money difference doing a value over a mod to stay longer on vacation, eat at better places, buy more and better souvenirs, etc. We are hardly in our room; so, to clean up or sleep I think basics are just fine.

Now, if I won the lotto big time I may stay deluxe, but I would never do mods under any circumstances, now.

I agree with the other poster that the transportation system is very awkward at the mods. Also, I think of the mods as beeefed up values for a much higher price. Mods are my least favorite. Usually, for a little bit more you could stay at a deluxe AKL room and I would do that in a heartbeat over a mod, if I were do either one.

I didn't vote because I'm not totally sure how to vote on this.

We are the "can't stay in any room on property" family of 5 ;) , so we don't fit into one room at the values or at most of the mods.

We DO it at POR, which we have done twice now as a family of 5. But the last time we did that, we said it would, indeed, be our last time. It's just too crowded for us and I hate double beds. Love the resort, don't like the rooms (for 5 that is).

But ofcourse, 2 rooms at a mod. is so much more than 2 rooms at the values. But I like the mod. resorts better on the whole.

If we get to go in Aug. this year, it will be at the values (2 rooms) since this is the most economical. But I will be secretly wishing I could do 2 rooms at CSR.

OK...............I've thought about it. If I had my choice and money wasn't an issue, I would stay at a mod. I just like the theming better and the overall feel of the resorts. There. I decided. :D

I also prefer Values, and the proximity to the main building is a big reason why! Just too much walking at CBR for me. It is either just me or me and a young adult, though, and if I was sharing a bed I could totally understand people wanting the queen size of the deluxes. The Values are plenty big enough, and I kind of like the oversized icons! :rotfl:

The past few years I would have answered Value. Why pay more? We used the pools and walked the grounds of our resort somewhat, but we spent most of our day in the parks.

This year my answer is Moderate. I've had some health issues this past winter, and we want to spend more time at the resort in a quiet atmosphere than at the parks.

It depends on what type of vacation you're taking, and how much you'll be using the resort that affects my choice.

I agree and it is just my husband and myself - I prefer a quieter atmosphere.- and yes it was great as CSR

i picked value

in particular, i'd pick Pop Century

the bus stop is centrally located, and not shared with another resort

I absolutely will not stay at a value. They're cute, but the buses are awful. Buses will fill up in the morning and it takes awhile for another one to show up. They are also too loud. Not only can you hear people outside, you can hear your neighbors too.

I need my hot tub, a value does not have one. I also like having a fridge in my room and 2 sinks. It makes eating breakfast in the room very easy. At POFQ, the bus stops there first. If it fills up in the morning they call for another one to go to POR. (There is a CM at the bus stop before park opening.) So you don't wait for buses like other mods do. Your bus is always empty going to a park. Plus, you have the boat to DTD. There is also entertainment at POFQ, Elliot Dyson at Scat Cats. It's just more relaxing than a value. Something I need after being in a park all day.

That's what we did this past trip. It worked out great.

Oh, I'm sure it did! :)

And we would love it. Now, my bank account wouldn't love it.........it would be more than $1000 more for this next trip!!:scared1:

While moderates do seem nice I would rather stay longer at Disney at a value than cut a trip short by choosing a moderate.
