Valid Resort ID?

What exactly does this mean? We have passes from last year's trip, but we will be staying at the Poly. We plan on taking advantage of the EMHs. So how do they verify that we're at a WDW resort - is it printed on the key card somewhere or do they scan it for the info or what?

Valid Resort ID = your room key for the current trip

Typically for morning EMH you just show it when you enter the park. For evening EMH there are wristband distribution stations where they scan the room key, then you move to the next cast member and they attach your wristband.
