We are doing a BLT & AKV-Jambo split stay in a few weeks. This trip we will have a car for the first time. I'm wondering if it makes sense to Valet park at either of these resorts?

We are waitlisted for AKV-Kidani (instead of Jambo) and since we've stayed there before I would say that it likely isn't worthwhile to valet park there but I'm wondering about the other two resorts.

It would probably take less time to walk to the BLT self-park than over to the contemporary valet. There is no valet at BLT itself.

We have never stayed at AKV at either Jambo or Kidani so I can't comment on the need to valet for there.

We just stayed at BLT in June and it was the first time in any of our WDW stays that we haven't valet parked the car. The parking lot for BLT is literally outside the building. If you were to valet you would have to walk over to the CR, so it really doesn't seem to make sense or save anytime. We never had any problem parking in the lot directly outside of the building, not sure if that is ever an issue or not. So although we generally like the concept of valet parking it didn't seem necessary at all at BLT.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

Thank you so much. I'm so glad that I asked. We definitely won't be using valet at BLT then.

We always use Valet parking (stay at Kidani)...mainly because we like to dine at other resorts for dinner. It makes the process wonderful since we can valet park at all resorts for the one fee. This is especially nice when we go in the hot and humid summer. We will call for the car before we leave the room. By the time we get down, the car is parked and waiting with the air conditioning going. We feel fresh at dinner, which is important to us.

Unless your villa is close to the lobby, you could end up having quite a hike to get your car from valet parking at Kidani.

I have handicap parking for my car so I get free valet. But I don't use valet for either BLT or Kidani because parking the car myself is closer/quicker.
