Tipping is a very touchy subject....but since you asked....
We tip everyone. We tip the guy that takes our bags from the car to the cart, the guy that takes the bags to the room, the woman in charge of housekeeping, the women that make up/turn down the room, the managers at the restaurants we love to frequent, overtip the waitstaff, and the concierge person that checks us in and helps us throughout our stay. Anyone that lifts, moves, delivers, cleans...whatever gets a tip.
I know it sounds like a lot....BUT....we have the same bellman who remembers our name , we get the exact room we want whenever we go-even with last minute trips, the same concierge person takes care of us, we get the best tables without a PS and some extras from the restaurant managers (champagne, dessert) our room gets extra TLC as well...our favorites are always in the room when we get there ( grey gose, limes, tonic, champagne on ice and strawberries).
We love to spread it around, not to get stuff but because these people go out of their way to make your vacation magical. We really appreciate these kind gestures given to us considering how may people they see. We are always remembered - and we remember them! We have made friends with these people and in a way are our "vacation family". They have become just as important to us as the location itself and always look forward to see them. This is not just for WDW, but everywhere we travel.
It's also not just about tipping, but about being kind. Also whenever there is a survey of any kind anywhere, I always emntion names and say how professional, curteous, etc. thye were. Many times these surveys mean extra money or some kind of incentives for employees.
