Is it true that if you have a handicapped placard you can valet park for free at any Disney resort? Even if you are not staying at that resort? For instance, could I valet park for free at the Contemporary resort, (tip the valet of course) and ride my ECV over to Magic Kingdom?
no but any one can park at a resort and go in and eat look around shop some have a 2 hours that you can do this Or this was how it was when I went to the top of the word at the contemporary in December. the TTC has handicap parking up close
Yes I think are right that if you have an ADR ( and I have heard that you can shop and look around with out a ADR but there is a 2 hour limit or this is what I have been told when I go) and all the handy cap spots are taken then yes you can vala for free
1) So, you are just trying to skirt the parking fee. *
2) Is that correct? *
3) Yes, you can Valet Park free at the Deluxe resort.
4) But, you need a reason to get past the guard shack and to the Porte Cochere (such as a meal ADR or event ressie).
5) They just don't let you in to park-for-free in order to avoid the parking lot fee.
No, I just want to avoid the new preferred parking fee in addition to the regular parking fees. Plus it is closer to drive the ECV to magic kingdom than to hassle with the bus/ferry with the scooter.

It's all so confusing, resort parking fees, preferred parking fees, valet parking fees, parks parking fees. We normally stay onsite and take the bus everywhere.
You can Valet park at any resort that offers it for free (except you should still tip!) with a HC tag. That said, I would not try to valet park at The Contemporary and then "scoot" over to MK.
The HC parking lots at each park have not been affected by the new preferred parking areas. The new preferred parking areas are already available for use and are not being utilized by guests I think the way Disney had hoped. People are not freely coughing up that extra $15 for preferred parking the way Disney had hoped!! This may be a very short term trial or I suspect it may turn into a "free perk" tied to something else like the old AAA diamond parking pass.

There used to be signs saying that resort parking was not to be used for access to the theme parks. There was also wording in the literature at each resort that the parking lots were for guests of the resort and others using the resort facilities.
Not questioning anyone's motives, but yes, we have valet parked at resorts with a handicapped placard without charge. Make sure you tip in both directions.
