Valet parking?

Can you valet park at one of the MK resorts and take the monorail to the park for the day?

This isn't really how the valet service is intended to be used; however, I don't know of any specific restriction on using valet service this way. If you pay for valet services, you are paying for the full day with full in-and-out privileges, meaning that you could leave the resort and return or go to any other resort offering valet and valet park without having to pay again that day. That said, I'd valet at the Contemporary as it's faster and easier to get back there at the end of the day, and can be easily reached even if the monorail is down, which it seems to be more frequently these days.

If I'm incorrect about the actual rules, I'm sure someone else will point it out, and if it is against the rules, I would just recommend parking at TTC instead.

I have been told, both at the CR and the GF, that if you pay to valet park your car, you are then free to go anywhere you wish for the rest of your day. If you want to head to MK, go for it.
It is truly only self-parking that can be nudgy if you want to leave your car all day and head to a park.

Sometimes valet parking this way to access the Magic Kingdom won't be allowed. For example since tomorrow night is New Years Eve the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian will only allow in those guests who are staying there and those with confirmed ADR's.

That is entirely possible. At times that the parks are going to be excessively crowded, and there is a big call for guest valet parking, then they may not allow non-resort guests to valet park. BUT...that doesn't happen very often. It is much more likely to have the self-parking limited to resort guests only...that is where the issue lies. Not that many people are willing to pay $15+ to park for park access.

I was forced to use valet parking on a number of occasions, especially for the MK because of full Handicap parking lots. Anyone with Handicap placards or plates can use valet parking at Disney Resorts for free minus tips of course. Now this isn't the case over at the Swan and Dolphin but they are not run by Disney anyway. I mentioned the possibility of me using the valet services to a couple of Parking lot CMs after complaining that there was no parking for Handicap available and they shrugged their shoulders and said it was up to me. I guess if I was really willing to park at CR and take the monorail or just use my ECV to the parks it was up to me. Swan and Dolphin actually told me that if I wanted to park my car with them and go to the parks it was fine with them for the whole day.

We have and ADR for CRT at 8.05am and the MK does not open until 9.00am.

The question we have is that as we are staying off site (oh the shame we know :worship:) could we use the valet parking at CP or GF as this would make life easier as they are both in walking distance to MK?

Paying the extra is not an issue as we are looking for peace of mind as we are not sure that the monorail or the ferry will start in time for us to make our ADR.

We are not looking at "working the sytem" or preventing those staying at the resort from use what they have paid for. All we want is to pay whatever it will cost for hassle free parking in order that we can make our early ADR.

Thanks in advance

You can park at the TTC early enough to make your reservation. I think the monorail starts running at 7:30, so the parking lot would be open by then - and so you wouldn't have to pay a valet fee plus tip. And that early, you can park close enough to the TTC to walk, so no long waits for the tram at the end of the day.

Just so you know, there's no walking access from the GF to the MK. There's a waterway between the two with no path.

Thanks for your reply.

However, if we did park at the TTC at 7.30am and then get the monorail to MK we would not have a lot of time to enjoy the slow walk up Main Street without the crowds.

Therefore, is it possible to valet park at CR at 7.20am and walk to MK and wait with our noses pressed up the turnstiles until they let us in :rotfl2::rotfl:

I know that this is VERY early but as this will be our first full day of our holiday we will still be in UK time.

We plan to leave MK mid afternoon to get some rest and then head back later in the evening.

As I have said before, we are not looking at "working the system" and are more than willing to pay extra for this service.

Thanks in advance.

The monorail starts running at 7am. Get there for 7. If for some reason, the monorail isn't stopping at the TTC, you can just walk over to the Polynesian...takes about 10 mins.

You will not be allowed past the turnstiles until almost 8 any way, so getting to the area too early is not needed, other than the train station you cannot see much from the gates. If you park at TTC just remember to get on the Resort monorail not the Express(the Express will not be running early enough for you).

.......

You can walk to the MK from the Contemporary but NOT the Grand Floridian. There is no walking path between the GF and the MK.
