I've never used Valet Parking for more than one night at any hotel...so this is probably a silly question.;)

Let's say you arrive and choose valet parking, and you only get your car one day out of 5......will WDW charge you for all 5 days?

I don't know this answer but I think I readdd somewhere on these boards that YES, you will get charged for 5 days. Can anyone else help pollyanna?:D

Yes, you are charged for the number of days your car is in valet - not for how many times you use the car.

I am almost positive if you are a resort guest you do not get charged for valet parking if you are at your own resort. I know DVC members do not get charged for valet parking in other DVC resorts and I have not valet parked at a non DVC resorts for years but I am almost positive you do not pay for valet parking at your own resort. Of course you should tip them each time you pick up or drop off your car. :D

Just got back & valet parking for RESORT guests is 6.00 per day. Absurd....I was at the CR for 11 nights, which means that if I let them park it for me they would have charged me 6.00 a day for 11 days=$66.00. Needless to say I parked myself, with little effort. I think they started charging in 2001. It was no big deal to park it myself & I saved 66.00. Even the parking guy, told me, I'd be crazy to let them park it for me. At disney resort prices, they should let hotel guests park for free.

Yep. We stayed at the Grand Floridian for 8 nights a couple weeks ago, and we were charged for 9 days of valet parking ($54). We also spent between $80-100 on tips for the valets (we valet parked at every resort we went to). Not a cheap thing!

Be glad you weren't staying at Universal's hotels. They charge you $6/day for self-parking!

They charge you to park at Universal. God they really do know how to get you. Aand we complain about the Jersey shore costs. Those folks only have three months to make their money. I think I won't complain so much about them anymore. I learned something new on the Dis

We stayed at the YC over the July 4th week, and although we didn't use valet parking everyday, we did use it 3 or 4 times. It hasn't showed up on our bill......yet! It wasn't on our express checkout, and I haven't seen any postings on our cc bill. Maybe skipping a day here or there of valet parkig confuses their system.:):D:)

cindala, the GF made sure to charge us everyday! Our CC bill (even from January) listed a seperate $6 charge - our last day (early morning pick-up of the car from valet) since all days prior showed up on the express check-out. They make sure to charge you there! The Contemporary only charged us for half the days we were there! Oh well, when you add these fees to the price of the trip (and, the car, you wouldn't believe some of the prices we've paid for rental cars! I guess we need to stop getting Premium SUV's and Luxury Cars!) it doesn't seem to bad. Especially when sometimes here at home hotels can charge $25-40 a day for parking downtown!

Cali,
Okay, yet another reason for you to try the YC!!:D

I thought I read somewhere that free parking was a perk of AP's. Is this at the resorts, parks, both?? Or maybe I'm just living in my own little fantasy-land!!

AP holders and resort guests get free self parking at the theme parks. Self parking is free at the resorts, too.

I've stayed concierge twice since the pay for valet system was introduced, and both times there has been a line item on my express check-out that read Valet Credit - CRG (which I assume means Valet Credit Concierge), and then the valet parking fee credited back to my account. I've asked if this is only at CR and AKL, but was told they don't do it at any resort. Well, somebody does, because we haven't had to pay for it yet!

Interesting! I've done concierge at the CR, and like I said, was charged for half of the days.

we stayed at the Dolphin last year in July. We checked in Tuesday morning July 3 about 7am. The hotel was in the middle of the BIGGEST checkout I've ever seen; the FBLA convention (all high school kids!) was checking out. Their porte cochere was a riot - vans, limos, busses, people coming & going, etc. We valet parked our van & went up to our room to unwind after our red-eye flight. At about 11:15am we left our room to walk down to pick up the car and as I was digging in my purse for the valet ticket I discovered THE CAR KEYS!! I had taken them with me. When we got down to the porte cochere there was the van, right where we left it! It had sat there for over four hours stopping up everything. The valet parkers were REALLY glad to see us!!

BUT - when I opened the door to the van there was their copy of the valet ticket, sitting on the front driver's seat, with our last name written on it with a marker . . . I guess no one checked the hotel system because no one ever called us in our room to ask for our keys!!
