Valet parking payment timing

I've never used valet parking at USF/IoA, but I'm planning to get the premier annual pass which includes free valet parking.

When do you pay for valet parking, when you drop off or when you pick up?

If it's when you pick up, then I could drop off my car, go in and collect my annual pass, then present that when I pick up thus avoiding paying to park the first time.

Also, how long is the wait normally when you pick up your car? Naturally it would vary, but what are some examples? Is it just as fast to walk back to the parking garage anyway, sometimes?

That really doesn't answer my question, but thanks. I've seen that thread before. But it'd save me time the first day if I could just drop off the car at valet, rather than running back after I get the AP.

The valet line only gets long at closing time during the peak season and special events like HHN. Other than that you shouldn't have a long wait. I am a fellow Premier passholder and LOVE valet. My husband, who also has one and goes at busy times for solo visits, sometimes parks in the garage to avoid the crowds because you get the preferred parking in there.

i wasnt trying to to be a wise guy. the way it sounded to me was the poster had to pay even though they had a premier ap. i recently acquired mine so i take it when i use valet parking i just show it either at drop off or pick up and they see its a premier ap and no payment is required. if thats the case than do the parkers work on tips?

It is a tipped position. When I have used valet, I've tipped anywhere from $2 to $5 depending on how much cash I had on hand.

Do you tip on drop off or pickup? I've been splitting the $$ between the two but am not sure if that's really correct.
