Valet Parking Fee - Is this right?

We arrived at BWV on May 16 at approximately 8PM, valeted the car while we unloaded and checked in. After visiting EPCOT, spending some time in the pool, getting our son to bed, unpacking, etc., I picked up the car at 12:30 a.m. and went to Wal-Mart to stock up on groceries for the week. I self-parked when I got back to the resort and for the rest of the week.

At check-out, we were charged for two days of valet parking for the 16th and 17th. I spoke to the CM at the check-out counter and a manager and both said that the "per day" fee is based on calendar days and not a 24 hour day, and since I valeted the car on the 16th and picked it up on the 17th, that is why I was charged two days. $24 for 4 1/2 hours.

I was speechless. Dumbfounded, really. This just doesn't seem right or logical, and was not what I was charged valeting the car for the first night at previous trips to Kidani and POLY for which I was charged only one day's valet fee.

Is this right?

That can't be right. For example if you only stay one night at a resort and valet park, you would only be charged for one night's valet. Like from check in time to check out time.

I'd contact DVC Member Satisfaction. DVC outsourced the valet parking a few years ago, but I think you got ripped off by a dishonest employee...and that's a bad reflection on DVC, even if it's not their employee ripping you off.

If you put the valet charge on your credit card, I'd dispute the credit card charge.

I would complain also. Possibly that is the rule, but think about this way: many come to BWV and valet park in the evening for a night on the boardwalk and some of those don't leave until 2 a.m. after Jellyrolls or Atlantic Dance close. They definitely don't charge those guests for two days.

Just a slight correction, Disney Park and Resorts out sourced the Valet Service not DVC. DVC told us that the Valet policy changed without notice and that there was nothing that they could do because it was a contract item between P&R and the vendor.

I think it's a 24 hour period, which starts when you first valet park your car. Hope you get it straightened out...in your favor !!

Just go to the Front Desk and ask for the front desk on duty manager I am sure they will get it straightened out for you, or you already home.

If so why did you not question the charge while there.

From the OP's original post:

Thanks for all the responses. We are at BCV this week and I walked over to BWV last night and spoke to a different manager at the front desk who confirmed I was charged improperly and refunded the charge for the 2nd day.

Glad it's resolved.... but I don't think it should have even happened in the first place. That first Manager should have exercised more..... "common sense" Ridicious they even tried to charge you for the 2 days
