Is there valet parking at BWV? Does anyone know how much it costs for DVC members?

Yes, valet parking is available and it is free for members. Very Convenient!!!! Make sure you tip!

If you are not staying at BW and plan to valet park during a F & W weekend, you MAY have a problem. There are reports that Disney has really cracked down on parking at BW during the festival to allow those staying at BWI and BWV to have enough parking. I am posting this as second hand information, so take it for what it's worth.

Valet parking at a resort is only allowed for visiting at that resort and not for visiting the theme parks. If you want to visit the theme parks and you are not staying on the Disney property or you don't have an AP, you will have to pay for parking.

To qualify for free Valet parking you need to have a valid parking permit for that resort or a confirmed ADR (3 hour parking limit), and your blue DVC membership card.

When I went there last month (I think Sept. 10th) for my reservation at Cape May, I was told that they did NOT honor free valet parking. Even though I am a DVC member at AKL and had the blue card in the window, I had to pay the $10.

Gmax... Sorry to hear that. We have never paid. I will follow up with DVC Management for a clarification.

We have used the Valet parking at most of the DVC properties if we were staying there or not and never had to pay. At BWV, there is SO many reasons why I may be going there I have never been asked why I was there (yes we have walked to the parks from there), but have never had to pay.

If I was asked to pay the $10 at a DVC property I would ask to talk to a manager.

We saw it first hand last Friday night. It made getting into any BW parking difficult even if you were staying there. The lot across the street filled up and nonguests seemed to think assailing the regular lots might get them a spot. Spots were being saved for BW guests, but guests had trouble getting to them through the nonguest gridlock and ...it was pretty much of a mess for awhile.

So, if you aren't staying at BWV on a F&W weekend, don't plan on parking there.

Why is anyone parking there if they are not staying at BWV when it is just as easy to park in EPCOT's parking lot if you are staying onsite? You have your parking pass from whatever resort you are staying at. This gets you free parking at the parks. We have never had to show our AP, just the parking pass to get free parking at the parks.

It used to be free -- last time I was there.

But I always tipped $2 in and $2 out. those guys work hard and do a good job running to get the cars.

Because it's easier to get out of the BW parking lots later than get to the Epcot parking lot, with the massive crowds. There are also those who wish to add in some BW fun as well as heading to Epcot. And if they don't have to pay, so much the better. It always amazes me what lengths people will go to in order to save $12!!

By the way, I have asked at CR, BW, about valet parking for park access. They said it was fine!! It would seem that as long as someone is paying for parking, Disney doesn't care where you park. It's just those that insist on parking in the guest lots, while not staying at that resort, that's an issue.
Just saying what I've been told, in person.

However, all bets are off for FandW Festival time. Parking rules change then!!

If you are asking the valets, of course they will tell you anything you want to hear. They make more money if they tell you no problem. But if you read the DVC literature that is mailed out and on the DVC member website, it says not to use valet parking for theme park access.

We have parked at BWV many times even though we were not staying there. We did not need ressies either since I think the Boardwalk is considered an entertainment destination in and of itself (albeit small). We are DVC members and have not paid to park there either.

Now during F&W or other busy times, I am sure there are some ways to limit non-guest parking because those lots do fill up quickly during busy times.

This has been our experience.

A confirmed ADR is not part of the official rules, nor is a time limit. They may reserve the right to limit parking if the valet parking lot is full but other times an ADR is not required for members to use this benefit.

Official Rule from member website (under Boardwalk Resort):

Valet Parking at the Walt Disney World® Resort
Enjoy complimentary valet parking at Disney's BoardWalk Resort. You must present your Disney Vacation Club Member card or Walt Disney World Resort ID with your "DVC Member" designation on it when leaving your vehicle to be parked.

My expiriences are as you've described. I pulled into the BC last year during F&W festival and stopped at the guard shack. The guard (a Disney employee I think , not outsourced right?) asked if we were staying at the BC. We said no, that we just wanted to have lunch at Beaches and Cream and MAYBE go over to DHS afterward. He said that was fine but we couldn't park in self parking; we could VALET park or park in a lot accross the street. We told him we planned to valet as we were DVC members and it was free. He said great and to have a nice day.

We didn't ask the valet - we asked the guard - a Disney employee with no money to be made and he said it was fine. I get tired of DISers wanting things to be one way and then scarring people into thinking thats the way thinks are.
