valet parking at AKL

I am staying at AKL for 3 nights in December. I have read that the car park is quite far from the hotel and that you pay valet parking. I was under the impression that if you stay on site parking is free. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Self parking is free but valet is not. To be honest the self parking isn't too far, unless caught in a thunderstorm. Best bet is for the majotiry of the aprty to be dropped at the main doors and for the driver to go and park especially if you have alot of shopping We often walked with DMIL who had only had her heart valve replaced 5 months prior to the trip!!

Unfortunately have never stayed at AKL but hope to one day.

But we have visited Boma, We self parked & didn't find it far away at all. No problem

There is a bit of an uphill walk to the hotel from self-park, but it's not bad at all if you don't have any issues that would make a short walk difficult.

when we stayed there we only found the walk to be short and never needed valet parking. i think it was a really nice experience walking up to this amazing hotel everyday for two weeks and noticing something different about it. plus you can hear the african music and smell that african smell as your walking up. it really does make the atmosphere fantastic. i hope you have an amazing time there. oh the memories. i want my wdw fix NOW!

We only valet parked if it was raining or if we had lots of shopping. To be honest the walk is not that bad.
