My Dad and I are staying at the Polynesian from 12/24-1/1. We are doing a DCL cruise beforehand and since the DVC studios at Poly don't have a washer/dryer in the rooms, we are trying to figure out how we are going to do laundry at some point. Does anyone have experience with the Valet Laundry service at the resorts? Does anyone know how much it would cost? The only possible date I can see myself doing laundry in one of the laundry rooms is on 12/26 in the evening since we are planning on going to Trader Sams that night. I just don't know how busy the laundry rooms gets, so I'm thinking about the Valet option. Disney doesn't have any price info on their website. Thanks for any info!

I often send out clothes to be cleaned.... slacks, shirts, even jeans. Especially if I bring a suit or sport coat.
That said, I will never ever ever send my underwear for someone else to wash.
Bring enough of the essentials.

Have you thought about doing your laundry on board the ship before you leave?

I have not thought about that. Do you know how much this usually costs? Our cruise is also only a 5-night on the Magic, so it's not terribly long. That's the only reason why I thought about doing it at WDW.

Yup. Worked great. Same day service too!

This is from the BC/YC FAQ Thread. It is from 2012, but I can attest that the prices were the same in 2014. Not sure about now, but this will give you an idea at least.

I use the laundry service whenever we stay more than a week or when we're traveling to a second destination before returning home. They do a beautiful job. They accommodate special requests, for example my son has sensitive skin so I ask for laundered items to receive an extra rinse to remove detergent residue. They will also tackle stains. Service is quick, generally same day or next. If we aren't in the room they hang hanging items in the closet if there is space. If the closet is too full, they don't disturb our things and instead lay items neatly across the bed. Folded items are generally left on the desk or dresser, again without disturbing any personal items already there. I feel that pricing is in line with other travel destinations and the dry cleaning portion really isn't much higher than I pay at home.

Hell at those prices it might be more economical to order new stuff and have it shipped in.

Good lord. 7.50 to wash a pair of jeans that only cost 19.00?

lol

I get it and have considered laundry service before but thats expensive man.

The self serve laundry is $2.00 wash and $2.00 dry. They have single serving of soap in a machine for $1.00 per box

I can't speak for the Poly but doing laundry at the Beach Club was no problem. There is even a web site you can access on your phone that tells you ahead of time whether there are any open washers/dryers in the laundry room and then once you start your laundry, it tells you how much longer until the washer or dryer is finished. It's easy to pay, too, since it's done by credit card.
