We have always used the internal buses but this year we will have a rental car.

It's a short trip, we're staying at AKL, want to resort hop to see decorations and want to maximize all of our time.

On the day of MVMCP....we are going to check out the MK deluxe resort decorations and then have a late lunch at Kona.

Can we Valet Park for lunch at Kona and just take the Monorail to MK for the evening? Is Valet going to even be opened at the end of the party?

Otherwise, I guess we could take an Epcot/MK bus from our resort (AKL) then take the monorail over to the resorts and lunch. Then take the Monorail to MK for the party?

Any tips would be appreciated....keeping in mind that time is very valuable this trip because it's so short.

I do know if we valet park at one resort, we need to keep the receipt to show the others for the day. Remembering to tip all the way :)

Thanks

Valet parking at a resort is a "legal" way to park there at the resort all day, no matter what you might be doing.

We picked up our car from Contemporary Valet very late at night (after parking it before our early morning Wave reservation), so I assume Valet is 24 hours.

Valet is open 24 hours, so you can certainly pick-up the car after MVMCP. The only part that I don't know for sure is when you'd have to pay for the second day. I've read that it rolls around 6 am, but when I asked at valet once, the attendant said midnight. So just be aware that you might have to pay for two days if you pick up the car after midnight.

You can definitely valet park and pick the car up after the party. However, the "day" for valet parking changes at midnight. That doesn't matter if you just valet park once that day, and then pick the car up after the party. It does matter if you pay to valet park at one resort, then go and valet park at a different resort, expecting to not have to pay when you pick the car up after the party though. That happened to us for a MNSSHP, and we had to pay the valet fee again, since it was after midnight when we picked the car up, even though we had a receipt for valet parking earlier in the day.

Thanks everyone.

So at the very least I may end up paying $30 plus tips if I go this route and show up after midnight?

How are the crowds leaving the park on party nights? Is bus service horrible on hard ticket event nights at closing? Since we have to travel back to AKL I thought it may be nice to just have our own car. But we will most likely be tired so it may be better to just catch the bus back?

I think I am leaning towards....taking the bus to Epcot and riding the Monorail over to the MK resorts. Then when we are done at the party just taking the bus.

Any thoughts?

I haven't headed back to AKL after a hard ticket event, but I have taken the bus back to the Epcot resorts after the events. The lines aren't that bad (certainly no worse than a normal park closing). Personally, I would take the bus back to AKL because it means only one wait. If you do the valet route, you have to get back to Poly and then wait for Valet to get your car before driving back to AKL. With the bus, just head to the stop and wait.

You could also just park at the TTC, tour the resorts along the monorail and eat at Kona, then go to the party. And it won't cost you anything.
