Share with me some ideas please. DD (12) wants to give some for her friends.

AND I need some idea forwhat to give to "the boy". The guy she's "going out with" or whatever the term is this week. I have no ideas what to do for him.

For her friends, why have her make cute little goody bags with a Valentine card attached? In the goody bags, maybe throw in a 98 cent nail polish from Wal Mart (they have some cute sparkly colors) and a bunch of candy? I bet you can do each bag for under $3 and still have some really cute stuff in there!

And for "the boy", what about a box of nicer chocolate, in the $10 range? Or a small box of chocolate and a plush toy that's meant to be for a male?

Have her make them all cookies and pop into a cute little Val Day treat bag. Use Valentine's M&Ms if she wants to be fancy.

thanks - I forget about that nail polish...

I was wondering if a stuffed animal is what guys want to get?

I know they are doing carnations @ school - so maybe I'll take the easy road out & have her do that for her friends. :confused3

For the BF? Swedish Fish...with a note that says of all the fishies in the sea I choose you to go with me...or whatever saying she may find appropriate. She could use goldfish too, or a mix of any kind of fish type things.
For the girls, the polish is a great idea or fun valentine socks! Have her make some brownies, write "BFF 4EVAH" on them( cut them up pretty big )and wrap them tied with curly ribbon

I love the idea of a little gift bag with the candy and nail polish idea and maybe a lip gloss for her friends. My DD13 loves, loves lip glosses!

I would say no stuffed animal for the boy..."friend". If he were to give her one, cute, but I just don't think that boys would be into that. Since they're still young, I would keep it simple. Boys that age love food, any way shape or form. Baked goods that she baked would be great, or a gift card to his favorite place to eat. Around here it's Chipoltle for that age.
Or maybe a movie gift card if they go to the movies.

I'm sure whatever she does will be great, it's nice of her to think of her friends!

#1 Visit Target's dollar spot, they have lots of VD goodies, plus dollar tree does too.

#2 bake heart shaped cookies frost with canned strawberry frosting (it is pink:) and cover in sprinkles!!

#3 photo collages- my friends and I would love to make these for each other, its alot easier now with all the digital cameras and printer.

I love the ideas that require thought and effort, to me they always mean so much more than just buying stuff.

last year, DD12 gave the boy who asked her to the valentine's dance a gift card for movie gallery in a valentine's card-he's really into video games, so it only took him about 24 hours to use it up, lol. he gave her a really cute stuffed animal and a box of chocolates, as well as buying her a carnation at school.
for her friends, i love the cookie idea, and goody bags would be fun too. i don't think you can go wrong either way. the boy would like cookies too, i'm sure. my closest friend has a 14 yo son, he's thin as a rail and i don't think he ever stops eating, lol.

I think you should skip the stuffed animal for the "boyfriend".

I'd have her bake for her friends-- maybe buy a heart cookie cutter if you don't have one and make sugar cookies. Ice them with pink or red frosting, throw some sprinkles on and she's good to go! Maybe add in a bottle of sparkly pink nail polish.

The guy is tougher. I'd probably bake him a cookie cake, frost the border/rim of it with red icing and write something cute on it... :)

Best of luck! Valentine's Day is never easy when you're this age!

I'd be quite okay with not doing anything for the boy. LOL

But he has been really sweet to her - he got her 2 teeshirts @ Christmas

And she was in a pageant last weekend & he had a yellow rose & sweet card (it said good luck & hope you win) waiting for her backstage.

No, they don't go anywhere together....she didn't even know how to pronounce his last name when I asked the other day

I forget about Target's bin...I like the sock idea - its big here for the girls to wear fun socks 'cause they wear uniforms but have the freedom for personality in their socks
