what in the world do tweens get each other for valentine's day? my DD12 was invited to the school's valentine's dance by a boy in her class, and it seems they are now something of an "item". apparently, he's planning to get her a valentine's day gift, but, i have no boys and my nephew is only 5, so i have NO idea what to get a 12 year old boy! he plays drums in the school band and loves video games, that's all i know. does anyone have any ideas? i thought about a gift card to rent video games, but all we have out here in the sticks is movie gallery, and they charge $7.99 each to rent video games!

At least that's how it is in my house, lol. DH gives me a little box of candy and I give him a card. Not too big on Vday over here. I do get my kids a little candy though.
DD's good friends 'boy friend' (they're 13) tends to give her "found" things. I personally would not go with a gift card, it's too much IMHO especially if you don't want to encourage the boyfriend/girlfriend thing. Homemade cookies, cupcakes or small box of candy seem more appropriate and more in line with puppy love gifts.
all over it.
