Valentine's Day weekend

Is the weekend around Valentine's Day typically a crowded time at Universal? I just checked hotel and express pass pricing and availability; there were no rooms available at the Royal Pacific and HRH was about $500/night. An inlimited express pass was $89 to purchase (if not staying onsite), but I wasn't sure what, if anything, that tells me about the expected crowd level. Has anyone been at that time?

I know that this Mardi Gras week and also President's Day so I am not sure how busy it will be but we went during that time in 2013 and Thursday/Friday was fine that Saturday the kids went back and they said it was really busy compared to the prior two days. But the prior two days I thought were really slow.

crowds have grown since the 3 years you went in that time period.

i'm always amazed how past low crowd periods have grown each time i go to the darkside.

We were there the same weekend last year and are going back the same time this year...I think lots of schools get Monday off for Presidents day so that adds to the crowds. We thought the HP sections were quite crowded from 11 am - 3 pm each day over the weekend. The big attraction rides had waits of 45-60 minutes mid day. We arrived early and used a wait times app to manage crowds and took a break with a long lunch at Three Broomsticks mid day
