Every year since DH and I first started dating I've always made a special dinner for Valentine's day. This year since it is close to time to going to disney I thought of making disney dishes.
What are some that you all have tried and really enjoyed. I have looked on allear.net and found some that sound really good, but I'm having a hard time paring items together. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you want an easy time of choosing what would go together, check out the list of recipes from Boma. (They're grouped together about halfway through post #7: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1777635 ) Those are my favorite ones anyway. ;) And they're very unusual - not the kind of thing we grew up eating.

For the main dish, we especially like steak made with the Flank Steak Marinade from Boma - although we rarely use flank steak. We grill it all summer, but broil it in the winter. Another favorite is Boma's Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi, which works for other fish as long as it's a fairly thick cut like cod, haddock or salmon. I can't imagine using it for flounder or tilapia. Boma's Cured Pork Loin is also excellent - especially with the Coconut Curry Sauce.

Any of the Disney potato recipes would go nicely with anything, but if you're looking for something similar in taste the Potatoes with Afritude & Fufu work well. Or maybe Peanut Butter Rice instead of potatoes?

For a salad of greens, maybe use the Chili Cilantro Vinaigrette that comes with the Durban Spiced Roast Chicken Salad. (Assuming you don't want to make the chicken as well - although I usually make it the day before we eat the salad.) Or for a different salad, maybe the Melange Salad (onion, apples, tomato, bell pepper & cucumber with mint, OJ, lime juice & honey)?

I don't have a list of all the posts made by Tatania where she reviews the various Disney meals she's made, but if you check post #3 of the index thread I posted above you should be able to find some where people made more than one recipe at a time.

Good luck with your meal & enjoy your trip! :teeth:

Okay, so we're a little more casual.... The kids love it and it's our little tradition. Cooking together is a lot of fun, with or without kids. :thumbsup2
