What are you serving tomorrow for Valentines Day Dinner? I'm not sure what to have and I need some ideas

Well tonight I made shrimp scampi over linguine, salad, and cranberry pecan cookies. Very simple, very easy. Tomorrow we'll be going over to my parent's house.

Tomorrow I'm making bacon-wrapped filet mignons, twice baked potatoes, and roasted asparagus. And I'm going to attempt some of those molten lava cakes for dessert.

Valentines day means pasta with my homemade meat sauce, salad, garlic bread and chocolate cake.
:goodvibes

I made our V-day dinner last night. We had strip steaks with sauteed mushrooms and onions, baked potatoes, veggies and homemade soft chocolate cookies for dessert. YUM.

We are having Nachos, potato skins, chicken wings, etc - It may be Valentines Day but it is also the Daytona 500

Add in some mozzarella sticks and it sounds about perfect. Can't wait to watch the race tomorrow.

DD will choose so I'm sure we will have the fine cuisine under the golden arches. Yum yum

Sometimes we've gone out to dinner, sometimes we stay in and I cook whatever. This year, DH asked if I wanted to get take out, so I don't have to cook. Works for me, I said.

Sometimes, I'd rather just stay home instead of getting somewhat dressed up, go to a restaurant that you're going to spend 3X as much as what you'd pay for a regular meal on a regular day. ;)

So now, I need to decide what I'd like to order. But I do know that I'll be making dessert. Gonna attempt to make a chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean sauce (and if the sauce doesn't come out right, I'll have vanilla bean ice cream to take it's place)

We care more about the Daytona race than we do about a special meal. We'll probably just snack.

I treated myself to a 3.5# lobster last night:thumbsup2 If I don't do it, no one else will:laughing:

We haven't made reservations anywhere, so it'll probably be some non-fancy Italian food or Pizza Hut (hush! we *love* Pizza Hut).

DH has been out of the country for a few weeks, so he wants BEEF!! :rotfl:
Last night I picked him up and we went to Red Robin for burgers.
Tonight it is grilled T-bone, roasted asparagus, baked sweet potatoes and chocolate cheesecake.

If you are going to make the sauce from the link I gave you in your lava cake thread, it will turn out fine!!! I have made it several times, always to perfection!!! It's just those dang vanilla beans are expensive!

Not sure what I am making today. Either steak or chicken. Not sure of the sides, but have plenty of options in the pantry and freezer.

I do think I will make the Palo Chocolate Souffle for dessert!!! I think I have 1 vanilla bean left from the last time I made it!!!

DH has requested shepherd's pie. Apparently, I don't make it often enough to suit him. :lmao:

He took me out to breakfast this morning and since he has tomorrow off, is making me curry for dinner tomorrow. :thumbsup2

Pot roast with carrots and onions, Pioneer Woman's hot crash potatoes, homemade biscuits and jell-o salad. For dessert, heart shaped cupcakes. Nothing fancy, but it's my husband's favorite meal. Easy to make, too, so that's a plus for me!

DH is driving down to Florida to see his mother so we celebrated on Thursday. He took me to lunch at Copelands, which serves New Orleans-style food. They were all decorated for Mardi Gras (Feb. 16.) We are from the Gulf Coast and have spent some time in NOLA so we know good gumbo, et al. I'm happy to say their gumbo was superb. You know, if it doesn't look like dog vomit it's not authentic. DH had some kind of garlicky shrimp and I had blackened fish. I'm low-carbing, so no jambalaya for me. But I did get a bite of bread pudding. :goodvibes

Tonight I'll fix the kids some meatloaf with black-eyed peas and greens or a salad, with sliced oranges and apples. DD16 made us a chocolate cake with hearts sprinkled on top yesterday.
