Vacuum Cleaners In Rooms? Question

DW has this great idea to use space bags to pack our things to reduce the amount of space required in our luggage. You use a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment to suck the air out the bags and reduce the space needed. Do the vacuums in the Villas have hose attachments?

I have to admit... I have never touched that thing... I vacum at home! LOL!
I actually don't think they do have that attachment.

Instead of space bags which cost a lot and IMHO don't work (seals on mine broke after the first use, may I suggest large zip lock baggies. I use the Hefty 2.5 gallon ones and they work great.

Also, when using these make SURE you don't go over your airline weight limit. I have seen folks who using these could get TONS of stuff in there but then go hit with a hefty fee for the 75 lb luggage they arrived with. Airlines are really cracking down on this.

Carol is correct, the vacuums do not have any attachments in any of the DVC resorts.

The large zip lock bags do work pretty well!

Personal experience...Jetblue has a 70 lb./bag weight limit. Delta's Song is 50 lbs/bag.

I go for the "Take less and use the in villa washer" plan.

Zip lock bags are a big plus.

This thread scared me for a minute. I though someone was interested in vacuuming on vacation!!!

You know, we actually used the vacuum at OKW in January. We had four kids and four adults and the kids were eating popcorn, cereal, etc all over the place. So to keep from crunching everytime you walked around the villa, we vacuumed. Not much suction, though.

We vacuumed once after the "Great Potato Chip Bag Explosion of 2003".

OMG, we use the darn things all the time on vacation to keep the floor as clean as possible With two kids and lots of rice and cereal not much choice. Found the suction to be great for picking up food items - no hoses though - they are commercial stand up units that are lots of fun to manuver around the unit!
