Today Pfizer announced results for covid vaccine trials on ages 5+. It sounds like FDA may move quickly to approve this before end of October.

If FDA approves Pfizer covid vaccine in late October for ages 5+; do you anticipate DCL also making this a requirement and if so when would DCL begin this requirement?

I anticipate the foreign countries that DCL sails to will change their requirements to include children 5 and older in their vaccine orders, which will require DCL to change their rules. As for how quickly that will happen after FDA approval for ages 5-11, no one knows. My guess is the Bahamas and other countries that DCL ports in will make it so the requirement goes into effect at least 5 weeks after the approval to give parents time to get their children both doses and have the 2 week wait period after the 2nd dose.

I’d assume the 5 week mark as well as it’s the official word on the new 12s.

my kiddo will be 5 inJanuary so we are watching it closely..

I am really glad the vaccine is available for this age group, as I know a lot of parents are awaiting it. On a personal note, though, I have a cruise booked in December and all of us are vaccinated accept my 6 year old nephew. It will be his first cruise and we are really looking forward to cruising with him and my brother. But a few months ago, before Delta hit, my brother indicated he didn't think they would vaccinate him due to his age, even if available. I don't know if he still feels that way, but I am concerned he will barred from traveling without it and all of our plans will go up in smoke....

Yes. I would expect it starting January. As soon as a whole vaccine cycle (we don't know if it's going to be 1 shot or 2 yet) +2 weeks has passed.
