Vacations!!

Before you arrive of course, when do your vacations start to feel real?

I just booked my anniversary trip for Stone Mountain, so for me, right now is when the reality sets in....I'M GOING ON VACATION!!! I've been planning this trip for a year, since we returned from Stone Mountain May of this year. Can't wait to get back again.

So how bout you guys, when does it kick in for you that you're REALLY going on vacation?

When I drop the dogs off at the vet!! (where they have a nice little vacation).

I drop them off the night before, and don't tell them, but it's actually a nice bit of peace. My dogs are c-r-a-z-y!!!

When I actually book the trip it seems real to me.. but depending on how long off the trip is that feeling kinda dwindles.. Then it picks back up when its 30 days out from the trip and then it dwindles again.. until we actually get there, whether driving or taking a plane ride... once we get to the airport or to our destination then it kicks in again..

I think I have to agree with the above poster. When we book, then it dies down, then picks up again. I just booked St. Pete Beach in August. BUT our cruise is nearing, so I am starting to look for excursions. This is what I work for, and I just love it, I think the planning is half the fun.

Knowing that I only have 5 days and 13 hours until I leave for Vegas, makes it feel very real right now.

I will be visiting my daughter and SIL soon in Hawaii!. I bought a new suitcase..........that sort of made it real, but I don't FEEL anything yet. It is just too unreal for me right now. I guess when I start "cleaning up" at work and making the preparations for my absence......that probably will start to make it feel "REAL"............

What makes my Vegas trip feel very much real now is the fact that my travel docs came to my office this morning. You can't get much more real than that.

Thanks. It's not suppose to be that warm while I'm there (50's-60's/30's-40's), but most of my time is going to be in the casino's or at the Mandalay Bay Theater seeing Momma Mia anyways. My theory is being in Vegas even when it's cold, is better than being back in Chicago working.

Will do. I was really excitted when I got on Mandalay Bays website Monday and was able to get front row center section tickets for Next Tuesday's show. This will be a nice change of pace thing to do for a while in between my slot playing.

It will be so nice to get away for a few days and just re-energize my batteries. With a busy holiday season comming to an end and a very busy work schedule infront of me in 2006, this time off is going to be great.
