Vacation Rental Reco for Rome?

We are a family of 4 and will be doing the Mediterranean/Greek Isles trip in June. We will be staying a few nights after in Rome. Any recommendations for vacation rental websites or apps etc. I hear Airbnb and Vrbo in Europe isn't that trustworthy. After researching the room occupancy of most of the hotels - we would have to book 2 rooms and that adds up per night. I would rather find a whole apartment for price of 1 room or something more cozy for price of 2 hotel rooms. Thanks

We did an Airbnb in Rome after our cruise in 2023. We didn’t have any issues, it was cheaper than a hotel, and it was a great location. Keep in mind that buildings that are hundreds and hundreds of years old have their quirks, but it’s part of the charm I can find a link for it if you’re interested.

We're doing an Italy trip this spring and renting through Italy Perfect (https://www.italyperfect.com/) in both Rome and Florence. They have been fantastic to work with and will also provide recommendations and booking assistance for transfers, tours, etc.

We stayed with their sister company Paris Perfect years ago and could not have had a better experience. We highly recommend them!

I don’t have a specific recommendation, but we have used Airbnb several times in Europe without issue. In fact, it’s more reliable than our stays in the USA. Just look for a host that has several good reviews.

If you’re still uncomfortable, try searching for apart hotels. I’ve found these to be a lot more common in Europe as lots of folks prefer an option for self catering.

We're doing AirBnB in Rome after our June cruise. I have a co-worker who has done it multiple times in Italy and never had an issue. With this year being the Jubilee, the hotels were crazy expensive, and I was having a hard time finding a room that had 2 decent beds. With the AirBnB, we've got 2 actual bedrooms! I recommend https://www.youtube.com/@RozierRoma for some suggestions. I've been watching his videos non-stop all month and he does a few on AirBnB and hotels.

My sister travels to Europe frequently, uses Airbnb all of the time. Three of my daughters went to Italy this year (not together), used Airbnb, my son used it in Copenhagen this year.
