I dont always pay the best attention, and I have not been to the site in awhile, so excuse me - I am sure this question has been asked 100 times.

I have to find my old points books, but it seems the points have gone up. We just got the latest edition. I did not think points were supposed to change.

Thanks for answering

Eric

Briefly, DVC recently did a point "reallocation" that mostly made the weekend nights (Friday & Saturday) cost less points and the week day nights cost more points.

The technical rule is that the total number of points to reserve a unit for the entire year cannot change. A unit is a group of rooms and is defined differently for each resort. It may be a group of rooms, a building, a portion of a building, etc.

An easy way to think of it is to add up the total number of points it would take to reserve every villa for every night of the year. DVC cannot change that total, but it can change the cost for specific nights, room sizes, seasons, etc. An increase has to be offset somewhere by a decrease so that the total does not change.

Have fun reading the thread if you want more info or have time to read a very long thread. I'm going to close this thread, so anyone who wants to discuss this may do so in the thread erionm posted.
