I am in the middle of trying to plan our Christmas vacation and I just invited my parents along for the trip. I have four in my family then when you add in my parents I will have six going total in my party. My DH thinks there is a way around the min. of 4 in a one bedroom villa. How do they know how many people will actually be in your party? I'm trying to prove to my DH that they do know how many people are in our party when we check in.

New members and already trying to cheat the system.

How about if the place catches on fire and they have to evacuate the buildings and account for all of the guests?

The max occupancy for all 1BR is 5. AKL and BLT will have enough bedding for 5, all the other resorts will only have bedding for 4. You would be legal if one of your children is under age 3.

They are staying at VWL so they will be over the limit, regardless of the age of the 6th person.

Prior post shows that her family of 4 is all adults; plus now adding to adult grandparents. That's a total of 6 adults.

Prior posts in this thread? I don't see any indication of ages that makeup the family of 4.

A party of 5 plus a child under 3 would be allowed to stay in any 1BR villa.

You've really opened a can of worms with your question. As you can see some on these boards get very upset when anyone suggests breaking the occupancy limits.

There is no way to be within the rules and have 6 in a 1BR. You need a 2BR or some combination of 2 rooms. Either 2 studios or 1 BR and a studio will suit your needs.

I suggest you take another look at what you purchased and why you purchased it. If you intend to bring others along frequently and need a room that sleeps more then 4 or 5 I strongly suggest adding more points to cover the increased occupancy.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

If you read my post I said I was trying to prove to my DH that they do know how many people we have in our room. I AM in NO WAY trying to cheat the system... I NEVER INTENDED TO CHEAT THE SYSTEM... I WAS just asking a question. Now with that said THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING...

I do know how many can stay in a room... I am over my total so that means I have to look for another place for my parents and I have no problem with that. I have done my reading on this purchase and I do PLAN TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES AND THE REGS...

SORRY FOR GETTING PEOPLE MAD... I THOUGHT THATS WHY WE HAVE THIS BOARD TO ASK QUESTION AND FIND OUR INFORMATION NOT TO HAVE MY REAR END CHEWED UP AND SPIT OUT.

When you call to book the room they will ask for the names of each person in the room, that is the first place they will know. If you add people after booking you are expected to not be over the max.

Secondly each person needs a resort ID card, second place they will know.

Third, the housekeeping staff is asked to monitor rooms they feel are over the required limits and report them to managment.

Those over the limit could be asked to leave.

When you invited them where did you plan to put them :confused3

And member that see you leaving every day from a one bedroom will report you.

The room you are occupying belongs to others as much as it belongs to you. Those members do not want you abusing it. And Yes too many people over the max is abuse.

Let me just say this.... Disney has cameras everywhere and when you pick your nose, they know it. :teeth:

For the safety of your family and your DVC contract, tell your husband that it is not worth taking the chance over.

I had plan to put them in a value resort and we were gonna stay in our home resort... I am just gonna stick with that since this is a HUGE headache

Good idea, for truly there is no where for anyone extra to sleep, as it is two people are going to be on the sofa bed.

Nope, not for the older one bedrooms that don't sleep five. BWV, BCV, VWL only sleep four plus one under the age of three. However, DVC has been allowing a fifth person over the age of three, but no bedding, linens, towels are provided. You cannot have a sixth person no matter what age they are in these one bedroom villas.

Have you thought of getting 2 studios at your home resort? Depending on the age of everyone, you wouldn't want to all crowd into a one bedroom anyway.

It would be less of a hassle to all stay in one resort rather than trying to coordinate meeting spots etc. You may not be right next to each other but the proximity is still easier.

You also stated that your DH thought there was a way around the occupancy limits.

The flames you're experiencing are a reaction to that statement.

Well all I have to say for myself is that we are booked for a 2bd room villa for the time that my parents are gonna stay with us... on the other part of the trip my parents will be in a value resort and we will be in our studio...There problem solved.... No one is breaking any rules and everyone can be on their merry way...

I just saw your last comment, and that was exactly what I was going to suggest you do. I think you and your family will have a lovely time. The 2 bedroom villas are wonderful.
I intend to book one for us when we go on a larger family visit next year. Since we don't have enough points for that, we intend on borrowing from the following year. I was going to suggest you do the same if it works out for you. Otherwise you can switch resorts like you are doing.
