Vacation Planner??

Hi Everyone --

Does anyone know when the 2009 Vacation Planners will arrive? Seems like I haven't gotten a new one in awhile. Just curious! I love getting the new ones!

I haven't received my new one yet either but I haven't been looking for it since the planner I received last year has this year's points on it. Maybe they aren't sending new ones to the existing members in order to save $$ this year.

Apparently they are shipping in June/09. The delay was due to the recent addition of VGC, BLT and THV info.

I liked it much better in the early days when they just mailed you new pages and dividers to put in your planning binder when the new info became available. This annual book that comes later each year is just a total waste of paper IMO.

We received ours yesterday, when we picked up our mail after returning from our DVC trip; DW said they timed it this way

It was strange that they sent two, one for DW and one for me and they sent them FedEx

In the box were, A DREAM book that showed off the new existing resorts, plus the other options. The planner was just for 2009 and listed point charts.

They also included a letter talking up purchasing and that in the Dream Book was a paper with financial info (loan, interest, payments, etc).

I liked getting the books, but one would have sufficed and I wish they would have included 2010 point info too.

Is it really a 2009 planner or did you just get the old 2008/2009 planner? The old one's cover is Mickey and Pluto in a hot air balloon flying over Cinderella's castle, Big Ben, and the Empire State building.

If it really is the new planner it doesn't make any sense that they wouldn't include the 2010 point charts, since the 2009 charts are in the old planner.

It's not the 2008-09 planner. It's a thinner book that just has the 2009 points, the only major difference is it has the detail for nightly, weekly points for RCI exchanges.

I agree it was strange to recieve this now since we're 3 months into the year and not have the 2010 points listed.

I totally agree, not only a waste of paper, but money too. Doesn't that come out of our dues? I really liked the binder too! Made much more sense! Then you could decide what you wanted to keep, if any, of the old while popping in the new! I do like the artsy pages in the new planners though.

I am surprised they weren't sent out much earlier. With the significant change in point requirements for some stays in 2010, I would imagine there are quite a few members (who aren't internet savvy) calling to book vacations and getting a very unpleasant surprise. I feel bad for the cms who have to try to explain to these members why their vacations now require more points than previously. On the flip side, they occasionally will be able to make a caller's day whose vacation now requires fewer points.

Ok newbie here - how/where do you get these planners/binders? I'm trying to find planning pages etc kind of already outlined so I can start somewhere. If you can give me more info, I would be appreciative!

The planners are automatically mailed to members. I was told planners would be mailed out late spring. The binders are no longer provided. They have been replaced by the planners.

we got an email from our guide this afternoon letting us know that the new planners are now supposed to be mailed out in late May. They are delayed longer b/c of the addition of RCI and the World Passport Collection.

Mailed out late May?? That means some of the membership might not get them until June/July. The mailings are usually staggered due to the volume. Time for DVC to find a new process for this or go totally online... Waste of $$ for those who use the online tools, and for those who don't, way too late to be of any use...

This sin't the planner, this is just the dream book cheapened down to be split inot two so that they can just add a new point charts book and keep the same resorts part book instead havig to make a whole new one.
