Vacation pictures - Banff, Canada

Hi everyone

DH and I just returned from a week long trip to Canada. It was so beautiful! We can't wait to go back.

Just thought I would share a couple of pictures. We'll see if these link because they are from imagestation.

The Bow River

An elk we encountered on the side of the road. We were safely sitting in our car

We rented a canoe on Emerald Lake one morning, it felt like we had the lake to ourselves.

Lake Minnewanka

DH and I at a stream just off the side of the road. Lots of snow melting in the mountains so there was water coming down all over, it was beautiful.

And, last but not least, a picture of Lake Louise taken during a hike.


I have so many pictures of mountains that I don't know what to do with them! Every time you turn around you see something more beautiful and need to take a picture

I SOOOOO love Lake Louise!! That whole area is just gorgeous! We spent a week up there when I was 15 - I still remember my Dad following a moose to get a picture

I love the hot springs up there too!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures. Banff is breathtaking, isn't it? DH and I went in June of 1996 (I think?) and the mountains are just awesome. (an overused word, but the perfect one for Banff) I saw my first grizzly bear there, on the way in to the lodge. He was on the railroad tracks a good distance away, but you could recognize that hump on his back immediately. I also saw my first wild mountain lion while I was driving in. He strectched (from nose to tail tip) across the entire lane of the road. Awesome. No other word describes it better..

We are going to the Canadian Rockies next summer ...skipping Disney World
Banff, Emerald Lake, Lake Louise are all places I have looked into. Can you recommend any place to stay? PM if you want.
