Thanks.....the snake part scares me to death. I've made the mistake of watching those animal planet show's I've been Bitten and the damage a snake can do .......yikes. I still would love to see the Grand Canyon, the vegas trip sounds good to me. How long was the drive from vegas to grand canyon?? in hours?

You'll want to stop at Hoover Dam on your way to the Grand Canyon - the neatest bit of engineering ever in the US. So it may take about three or four hours to get there from Las Vegas if I remember correctly. We put 5,000 miles on our car from NW Louisiana to San Diego and back via some of the southern parks. We put another 5,000 miles on a different car driving from NW Louisiana to Montana (Glacier and Yellowstone).

Thanks for all the great ideas. Still looking at all our options...being a family of 5 really changes the pricing at all-inclusive resorts. My budget of $8000 - $10000 it not enough for most places!
I am thinking a cruise or maybe a trip out west but keep the ideas coming!!!!

The Grand Canyon is about 5 1/2 hours from Vegas. We stopped at the Grand Canyon Caverns on the way to break up the trip.
I would not really worry about snakes, stay on the trails and you should be fine.
It is a beautiful part of our Country that everyone should see once!!

Atlantis is probably the best all inclusive out there, and you could swing it for that price range.
