Vacation Homes

Has anyone rented a vacation home near Disney instead of staying on property. If so, is it cheeper and where did you stay?

You might get a better response if you post this on the Orlando hotels and attractions board. There is a lot of discussion about vacation homes there.

We stayed at a vacation home in April 2002 and really enjoyed it. We paid $160.00/night. It was about 10 minutes from Disney in a nice neighborhood. It was nice coming home at night to your own quiet house with your own private pool and jacuzzi. Felt just like we were home.
We stayed at Indian Ridge (Oakes) and the house was called Arabesque.
Would definately do it again if we had to, but since we bought our TT last summer our next trip (this December) is going to be at FW!!
