Vacation Homes

My family is going on our first vacation since I was a little girl and I have been surfing the net for deals on hotels. I just discovered vacation homes and have been viewing homes from vrbo and owners direct. Anybody suggestions on the where to stay or where not to stay would be greatly appreciated. I looked through the threads of best/worst accommodations but am looking for info on vacation homes only. Thank you everybody!

i DIDN'T FOLLOW THE LINKS, BUT WE STAYED IN A HOUSE MANAGED BY ELITE HOMES. IT WAS WONDERFUL. WE HAD 6 BEDROOMS, 3 BATHS, HUGE KITCHEN AND GREAT ROOM AND NICE POOL. WE HAD ROOMS FOR DH AND ME, DD AND SIL, DD, DGS, DS AND DIL AND 2 DGC. IT was $1100 for 8 days. Immaculate. Furniture looked like cheap hotel modern, but it was new and clean. Highly recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I haven't come across Elite homes yet, but will look them up now. I am so nervous that when we get there we will walk up to a shack type house miles and miles from Disney. This all just seems to good to be true. These houses are beautiful and priced so low! Thank you again for your advice!

I just put down a deposit on a rental home. Our dates are 10/30/03-11/7/03. We have 3 families going, totaling 6 adults and 2 children. I spent days researching this. I found the best deals to be through orlandovillas.com. I got a 5 bedroom 3 full bath home for $913.00 for 8 nights. That is the total after tax and pool heating. It has all the amenities: private screened pool, washer & Dryer, crib, highchair, dishwasher, multiple TVS (one big screen), DVD player, surround sound stereo, ect.

Granted I haven't been there yet. The home is 2 years old, and the pictures look great. The owners on that website are all from the UK. The one we rented has a management company in Kissimmee, which checked out great with the Orlando Better Business Bureau.

I just found them to be several hundred cheaper than other places. I guess I'll see if there is a reason why, but they did come highly recommended. I heard they are cheaper because they really want to fill the home, they also had the most unavailabilites, so a lot of people must be using them.
