I am trying to find a friend a vacation home, 1-week rental for April. I don't have the dates yet. Close to WDW is important to the family.

Does anyone have a preferred vacation home provider that they would like to recommend???

I've used closesttodisney.com and rented a villa in Windsor Palms...I found their prices and terms to be most reasonable. We will be using them again for our next 2 trips.

We stayed at a "4 bed 2 bath with a pool home" last year. It was beautiful, clean and the owners were wonderfully helpful. I'd gladly recommend it. Their site is www.vrbo.co.uk . They are in the UK but had no problem with making deposit and they have a management company in Florida.

That looks like a great home, Debbie. The price is pretty good, especially with pool heat included. Was the property clean and everything in good working order? Was there a Gas BBQ at the home? Did you have any issues while you were there with the home or management company?

We rented 2 homes for our 10/03 trip. We rented both from www.orlandovillas.com . We had a 5 bedroom 3 bath in Hampton Lakes. Which was about a 15 minute drive to the parks. My immediate family stayed in this one. Then I had my aunt's family in a 3 bedroom in Emerald Isle. We had a good expierence with both homes. They were both rented directly from the owners. Then we checked in w/ a mang. co in kissimee. They were truly beautiful homes. Made me not want to come home to my own house!!!

If proximity to WDW is important, you might consider renting points for a stay at one of the DVC timeshare resorts.

This sounds interesting. How would I do this? Sorry, originally planned on staying onsite, but am researching the benefits of staying off site. What are 'points' and how would I go about renting them?
Sorry if this has been asked a million times before. First trip and all..........

Try the DVC rental discussion board. Lots of great info there.
