Vacation Express, anyone use them yet?

I'm seriously considering this service for our March 2005 trip. At $100 less per ticket, and a direct flight to boot, I'll take my chances.

BTW, RUDisney, I reserved my National Car rentals for the first and last days, one way, from SFB to OR6 and back for less than half of what a RT towncar would be.

I've got mine booked, too, Bill. Total price is under $100. Better than the $160 plus tips.

If I understand you right, you did two -one day rentals? Where do you drop off? Is it a hassle?

I got an email from VE regarding two for one pricing but I couldn't read the dates! I'll probably give them a call later because my flights I purchased last week still have not gotten a confirmation. I'll post when I know more.

MaryKatesMom,

If you're asking about the car rental to and from SFB, Dolphin has an Alamo/National desk, the cars are kept right in the Dolphin lot. Last month my SIL and I rented from Dolphin for a day and it went smoothly. While investigating VE and SFB, RUDisney suggested that two one-way rentals might be cheaper than the $160 plus tip that a towncar would be. I got an economy car for about $40, I forget the exact cost. The Alamo site lists a $10 one-way fee, the National page doesn't mention this.

I can't imagine this being a problem. We're going back to either Swan or Dolphin, Teacher's Discount permitting, but even if not, we'll check in to whatever WDW hotel we get, drive to Dolphin for the drop off and walk to MGM or Epcot. Going backwe'll pick the car up @ Dolphin the day before, drive to SFB and drop off as usual.

What an excellent idea! My father will be joining us for only part of the trip so he needs to get himself from BC to SFB while my mother and I go later in the week.

Is the route difficult? He can get pretty anxious in strange places. You know how those retired 6 grade teachers are!

I've checked out a few routes. The easiest would be straight up I-4 to near Orlando, exit to the east and it's pretty much a straight shot to SFB from the exit. MapQuest and other such services send you down 417 I believe, probably to avoid I-4 traffic. We should arrive around 10 am so I'll do the I-4 thing just to keep it simple and only because it won't be rush hour.
