We were originally supposed to arrive at FTW this August 4, Value Season begins August 3.

Now, I had to move it up to August 2. That one day is in Regular Season. I just put my question in to my AAA agent, but I wondered what the experience was here on the boards.

Will I have to be subjected to the Regular Season rate for my entire 2 week stay because I arrived on August 2? I had read somewhere that Disney doesn't automatically switch you over to a different rate if the season changes during your stay.

I'd hate to pop up at a campsite outside Disney for one night, fold up and pop up again at the Fort the next day. We'll already be doing that for two nights on the road!

Help!

It is to my understanding that Disney DOES switch the rates as the rates change...so you will only pay for regular season for that first day. Disney also charges more for the weekend nights than for sunday-thursday nights.

From past experience you should pay the rate that applies to that day you said you will be there 1 day at regular rate then the rest of your stay is at value rate that is what your bill shoul be also i did the same thing but in reverse i stayed at regular rate for 11 days and 1 at holiday and thats what i paid for so unless they changed policies you shouldn't have a problem

The old policy used to be that the price for your entire stay was based on the first day - if you arrived in value season, it all was priced value season. Same in reverse. People would make two reservations, so the higher season did not carry through.

Now (for the last couple of years) the actual cost for that day/season applies to each day. Rog is right, most weekends are higher.

Forget anything that has happened in the past.

Disney has changed to an individual day pricing plan.

Up until 2003, as with all resorts at Disney World, the years was broken down into four seasons, with a different price during each season. They were (from highest cost to lowest) Holiday Season, Peak Season, Regular Season and Value Season. Starting in 2004 they have added a "Pre-Holiday" season for the November/December time frame. The Pre-Holiday season will be priced just above the Value season ($4 more per site)

Now, new for the 2008 rate year is individual day pricing. Not only do you have a "season" price, but you have additional charges for Friday/Saturday nights as well as several holiday periods. So, if you were staying in a Full Hook Up site from February 14, 2008 - February 28, 2008 this is how your rates would look

February 14 Peak season (S - T) price, $82 per night

February 15 - 17 Presidents day holiday price, $85 per night

February 18 - 21 Peak season (S - T) price, $82 per night

February 22 - 23 Peak season (F - S) price, $84 per night

February 24 - 28 Peak season (S - T) price, $82 per night

Plus, the price does not follow from one season to the other anymore. If the season changes you rate changes.

Thank goodness. Thanks guys. Lucky for me, weekends and weekdays are the same price during the value season at the campsites, too!
