Booked my seat, using miles, when they were released, 330 days ahead, chose my seat carefully, not at the back by the bar so I could get some sleep, not the front two rows, so any couples could be close together. So got on the flight, all settled down, everyone chatty and friendly. Then the cabin crew member asked if I was alone told her yes. She asked if I was would change my seat so a couple could sit together, one was opposite me, the other was seated by the bar. I politely said no as I didn't want to be by the bar. You would think I'd committed some crime from the looks on everyone's faces. That particular crew member was extremely cold with me after that, luckily she was the only one who was and after an hour she was nice again.
It was a night flight so everyone slept anyway and it was only a seven and a half hour flight. Why are people so entitled that they ask a cabin crew member to request another passenger to move seats because 'they want to sit together'. They would have still been several feet apart anyway.
I don't blame VA or the crew member for this, but, it highlights selfishness.
Still got some nice free lounge wear out of it and dinner and breakfast was very yummy.
