hi, wanted to know if anyone had done the v and a as interested in booking the chefs table for a romantic (:rolleyes1 ) meal for dh (who is a chef, so it would kill him to know he could see the kitchen working and be stuck in the dining room).
we have free ddp, does anyone know how much of a suppliment the chefs table would cost?
also we are going to book kids into the kids club at the same hotel, anyone tried it? (sorry cant remember which hotel that is though, having a serious blond moment..:confused3 .

V&A isn't included in any of the DDP's so you would always have to pay the full price.

There's only one sitting per night and it requires a credit card guarantee. You need to call at the 180 day window and use the same strategies as for all "hard to get" reservations (start phoning a couple of minutes before 7am EST, keep hitting redial until you get the "open" message, know which numbers to hit without listening to the recordings, etc). I've tried several times to make a reservation, without success.

One option I've never tried is to call each day in the week or so leading up to the date(s) you want. The credit card guarantee means people have to phone in cancellations at least 48 hours in advance in order to avoid a penalty.

yeah, we did that for crt last year:confused3 , as we are staying at PORS can we not book 180+10?
Is it worth all the hype though? we are serious foodies and whilst are quite happy with normal "food" in the parks (although the buffet at CP was excellent), if we are going to the expensive of paying for kids clubs for three kids and the high cost of the v and a, I would like it to be worth it, hence my asking for your reviews...
THanks

It was years before we got around to trying V&As, partly because dh didn't want to pack a jacket for one meal and partly because I struggled to buy in to all the hype. Our first visit was in 2004 for my brother's 40th birthday and we've been back virtually every trip since, with a further reservation made for my brother's 44th birthday in January. This will be our 6th visit. We're serious foodies, too, and we've eaten at some pretty fantastic and critically acclaimed restaurants both at home and abroad, and V&As is up there amongst the best. The genteel atmosphere wouldn't be to everyone's taste (and obviously the Chef's Table would be a different experience altogether), but the food, maybe with the exception of the desserts, is world class.

dont do genteel, hence the chefs table:lmao: :lmao:
thanks for the review, i think its a must do this trip
