V & A vs. Napa Rose

DW surprised me with a birthday trip to DL. We stayed at Grand CA and as an added bonus she got a P.S. at Napa Rose. We have eaten at V & A twice. Here is my take.

Food: The food at both was amazing with a much larger menu at Napa Rose. I went with the chef's 5 course menu for the evening with wine pairings. All of the courses were excellent and the wine selections were great. Napa Rose as an advantage in that you can pick and choose what courses you want. Food is top shelf at both spots.

Cost: Napa Rose ended up costing us about half of what a V and A meal would.

Atmosphere: Napa Rose was busy, crowed and loud. The open kitchen was nice. V and A is so elegent and quite that this is the only area in which I would say it wins hands down.

To me Napa Rose would be a five star if it were just a bit smaller and quiter.

Just my two cents. Interested in others

Thanks for the post. :wave2: We will be having dinner at Napa next week  and I was wondering how it compares to V&A.

When I made the ressies for Napa they did not specify a dress code. Is there a dress code there?

Thanks

We found V&A's to be extremely loud. You could hear every conversation at every table..it was funny.

We will be eating at napa rose in May..can't wait.

I've never heard of Napa Rose, would you please tell me a little about it. Location, food, service, etc.? We're always looking for new, wonderful dining experiences when we're at WDW and Napa Rose sounds like something we would like to 'do'. :)

The Napa Rose is at the Grand Californian hotel at Disneyland. You will have to come out to California to dine there. It is worth the trip I might add!

I have eaten there in my grubby theme park clothes, but I would have felt more comfortable in something nicer. I'd say collared shirts for guys and a pant suit or dress for the ladies. Enjoy your meal!

We saw everything at Napa Rose from suits and formal dresses to typical park wear. I wore dress pants and shirt (no tie) DW wore a nice dress but not formal. We were very comfortable.

I am hoping to eat there again on our next CA trip. Just hanging out in the Grand CA is wonderful.

DH and I will be visiting Disneyland in April. Napa Rose is definately on our list of PS. I was so pleased to see your post about it. I was worried that it might be too fancy for us. Thank you for the info.

I can't say that I was really surprised by the quality of Napa Rose. I was very pleased with the wine pairings and have found the wines to be accessible even here in AZ. Did not have the luck with the V & A pairings. Enjoy.

:firefight Before I am Bar-b-qued. Did you see any children there?? Say 2 , 8 an 10 year olds??? We may be going to DL for my 40th....
