Hey everyone,

We will be going to V&As for the first time this September and I'm looking for some guidance on the dress code for men...what to wear?

Do you need to wear a suit?

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

Firstly I'm so excited! I'm going also. First time this August.

You don't have to have a suit you could wear a blazer with dressy pants really just need a Blazer/Sports Coat/Suit it could be any of them. I need to go shopping! Have a great meal and a wonderful trip.

From the Disney website:

"Proper Dining Attire
Men: Dinner jackets with dress pants/slacks and shoes. Ties are optional. (Please no jeans, shorts, sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes.)
Ladies: Cocktail dress, dressy pant suit, skirt/blouse or nice dress.(Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes.)"

My husband sometimes wears a suit and sometimes he will wear slacks and sports coat.

I take my 'fun' suit and a semi-formal looking Mickey Mouse t-shirt.....or sometimes just a black t-shirt....but always that 'fun' suit from Etro.....

Thanks for all the replies, only thing is, I only have suits or jeans, no inbetween...

So can you wear a T-shirt under your jacket?

There was a time when I would have said, "No, you have to wear a 'proper' dress shirt."

But I believe that in today's society, you can wear a banded collar or a black/fancy plain-colored t-shirt.....you know, the 'Don Johnson' look from the 1980's......and do ya' think you'd be turned away wearing a fancy Mickey variety??

collared shirt. don't ruin the ambience for the other guests( and yes you WILL in such a small venue) by skimping. the experience should be treated with the respect it deserves.

every time we go all the men are in ties. and more than once DH has NOT been the only one in Military dress uniforms.

Wow Military dress really????? Im only asking as My husband is in the Forces(RAF) and I ADORE him in Military dress so would love him to wear his to VA next time we go to Disney I have never been and it would make it so special for him to wear his Uniform:)
The only thing is i wouldnt want him to wear it and feel like a wolly for being the only one!Dont get me wrong he wears his uniform with pride but its not something thats greatly done in the UK (going out to restaurents in it) so How often do you see people in that sort of dress,Also I LOVE dressing up so its a dream to go to places that encourage it!:woohoo: I dresses in a gorge little dress to Citrocus but still felt like people didnt make a huge effort and felt a little over dressed:sad1:

I'm mean. I even mad him get married in his dress uniform. hehehe.

we both enjoy going all out. when we cruise he wears the uniform on both formal nights.

US Military regs are slightly more lenient when it comes to the Dress/formal uniforms. can't wear them at say a poiltical rally, or to a protest, but for weddings, funerals and formal occasions, they are fine.. so long as you don't get drunk as a skunk and act like a complete moron.

you'd be surprised at how much recognition and even thanks he'll get for wearing his Uniform proudly. after all,. we ARE on the same side now.

Last time in fact we were invited over to another table for after dinner drinks with a retired member of the Army
