V&A Chef's Table

i don't know if you could get Oregon Chai at WDW but depending on where you are staying at you could always purchase some of the consentrate for your room (just prepare with milk or soymilk). Where we live we could purchase it at any of our grocery stores (Pac N Save, Safeway, Trader Joes, etc.). It's only about $2.99 - $3.99 per container.

I just stumbled across this thread today, and it is WONDERFUL! I want to thank you for taking the time to write up so much about the restaurant and post your pictures! I will be in the "neighborhood" (Daytona Beach, to be exact) in August - getting married on the beach, woo hoo! - and we've decided to spend a couple of days in WDW, since we'll be an hour away. We decided that we just MUST go to V&A's! We probably won't get to do the chef's table since we're only 107 days out and August is nice and busy, but I'll try to call anyway.

Worst case, we'll just eat in the restaurant. I still have a couple of weeks before I need to make that reservation. But darn it, I will take your advice and keep calling and asking about the chef's table! Maybe we'll get lucky, although I suspect that even if we can't get the chef's table, we'll be perfectly happy just eating at V&A's.

Okay, Mr. "Food Addict," maybe you can help me with other dining choices too, since I have to make my PSs before you go on vacation. We've officially decided that we can go to WDW on 2 days. We've chosen Epcot one day and MGM the other. We will eat in the parks both days. What do you suggest? I was thinking Brown Derby for MGM (I LOVE that place!), but what about Epcot? Have you eaten at either Marrakesh or L'Originale...(the Italian place with the really long name)? If so, what were your thoughts? Would either of those be okay, or do you have another suggestion?

(P.S. I will want a full report when you return, though. As you can see, my "official" next trip to WDW is August '06, and it's for 2 weeks, so I'll have plenty of time to plan out all the fabulous places to eat then, so I look forward to all your info!)

Well, in Epcot, my favorite, but its based on the fact that I haven't eaten many places in Epcot is San Angel Inn. Problem is I got hooked on the atmosphere there during one of my first trips to WDW....and haven't pulled myself out to other places. Every trip to WDW, I eat a late lunch at San Angel....because it is a cool refreshing break from the afternoon sun.

I would strongly suggest Alfredo's. All the waiters and cooks are actually employees of Alfredo del Roma and you will get a quality that you cannot get anywhere else.

You know, DF was thinking that Alfredo's sounded good, so I'm glad to hear that it actually is! I think I ate at San Angel back in 1990 when I was a teenager and there with my family (not that I remember much of it, mind you). I think maybe I'll try there next summer. Thanks for the help!

This made me think of something that I don't think anyone has touched upon, at least not clearly.

Does anyone ever "share" their chef's table reservation? I mean, my husband and I eat at chef's tables whenever we can and in many restaurants we get seated with another party or two. We have had some of the best dining experiences during these, and when I was telling my husband about the V&A one, he automatically assumed that this was the same kind.

He was visibly disappointed when I told him it would just be the two of us and the chefs in the kitchen. Not so much so that he didn't want to do it, just that he enjoys having good food and good conversation with like-minded individuals.

So, amidst all the fighting for reservations, does anyone ever share their extra seats at table?

Most people don't share the Chef's Table at V&A, although I don't think it is out of the possibility.

I bet if you get a reservation, and post that you are looking for people to join you, you'll have lots of volunteers.
