V & A advice for a picky eater, please help!

Cheshire Figment said:
There is nothing to prevent bringing a child. However, this child should be able to stay at the table for the entire time without running around or making noises, and be willing to eat real food.
She eats real food, but 2.5 hours is a LONG time for a 6yo

Unless you are prepared to spend about $120 (including tax and tip) for the child's meal and know that people at other tables will not be disturbed, you might be much better off leaving the child in one of the Kid's Clubs while you eat.
Yeah I think we'll have to skip this one! :earseek: Thanks

:earseek: Thanks kpm76 for posting the pics. I just wish I knew what all of that was. I thought the little flower pot was cute until I realized it was asparagus and then later crab!! Could you identify the rest of these items, please?! Pretty please?! :flower:

I think aunties is right about just trying things. Sometimes foods will surprise you especially if they're of the best quality, elegantly prepared and seasoned just so. That can make all the difference. I'm not sure how you could ever jazz up squid ink pasta enough for me to try it though! :scared:

So, Uncleromulus, there is a way to find out the menu in advance, even the day of? We will be staying right there so I would love to just peruse a copy before arriving. How would I go about doing this?

I will definitely be taking everyone's advice to contact the chef ahead of time. I thought the pork and beans dish looked good but what is that square thing in the middle MisterDisney? Of course the desserts look and sound yummy as well. I'll eat anything made of chocolate!

I'm getting excited now! :Pinkbounc
Only 6 months to go!!

Well....are you sure you wanna know? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Its "pork back fat". You know when you open a can of B&M Baked beans, besides the beans there's always some "fat" in it? You know...the stuff that when I was a kid we used to FIGHT over.....well that little square thing is V&A version of the fat!

YUMMMMMMMM

Barely seared Ivory king salmon with coconut-curry and tat soi.

Jumbo lump crab with asparagus timbale with sauce beurre blanc

Roasted quail with mustard spatzle and violet mustard broth.

Kobe beef with Brentwood Corn Risotto and natural jus (there was also an apple fois gras tartlet)

This is how they serve coffee at V&A's

Miniature chocolate pyramid, warm almond chocolate timbale, and orange chocolate napoleon.

The quail and salmon were DH's...I would not touch either of those but he loved them!!

Actually, that's what I thought it might be. See, I ain't so dumb! I just never imagined it would be served on a plate so elegantly! Funny you should mention B&M. Being originally from MA, we were raised on that stuff too, only we always threw the pork fat away!

Also, could you please insert a link to your V & A review? I can't seem to find it again!

Thanks, kpm76, for the identifying the foods in the pics! I think I'll stay away from the salmon and quail too!
