We are sittting here talking about DVC and have gotten confused about UYs. We have Oct UY- so did we just get our 09 pts or 10 pts this month? I checked the DVC website bit it did not help that much.. please help!

Simplest way to remember. What ever year it is - that's the years points you "get" when your month rolls around.

Since they're actually always there you're not really just receiving them. They are now your current points as compared to banked or borrowed. From Oct 2008-Sept 2009 your current points were your 08 points. etc. etc.

You didn't actually just "get" your October 2009 points. They have been in your account for a long time. If I look at my account online on the member website, it shows points for use years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012.

The use year controls what year's points are used for a stay. With an October use year, your 2009 points would be for stays 10/1/09 to 9/30/10. You can also use banked 2008 points for stays during that time or borrow 2010 points for stays during that time. There's no waiting to "get" your points.
