UY Points

We just bought in to the RR in October while on a Disney Cruise. RR doesn't even open until December 2019. Our UY is December. When do I have to use my 2019 UY points? My understanding is that I would need to use the points by November 30, 2020. Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct. You can also bank those points into your 2020 UY to be used by November 30, 2021.

To add to @PrincessDuck 's comment, your UY is Dec 1 2019 to Nov 30 2020. This doesn't mean you have to wait until Dec 1st to make the reservation. For instance, you could hook your home resort for Oct 1st, 2020 on November 1st 2019. It matters when the reservation is in terms of the UY points you use.

Good to know. So, I just made reservations for September of next year to use most of my points. In July, I will have to bak any leftover points, right? What if we change our minds and want to use banked points? Will they allow that? Just curious.

No...once points are banked you can not use them for a trip unless it falls within the next UY. Banking is a final transaction...just like borrowing is.
If you decide that you want to book something and use points after you have banked your points you can borrow points from the following UY (just not the ones that you have banked).

If you bank points at the end of July..your banking window..and then decide you want to travel more before Dec 1st, you can borrow points to cover that additional travel.

So, while you can’t unbank your points, you can still make the reservation by simply borrowing.

Of course, the biggest issue with this is borrowing points so late in your UY makes them vulnerable for loss because if you had to cancel or change that trip, you wouldn’t have much time to use them before they expire

Its a great idea to create an excel or google sheet with your points listed plus a calendar reminder.
