Uwanja Camp at Kidani...

We just returned (Oct 25) from a great stay at Kidani Village. The only thing that was quite disappointing was the closing of the water play area at the pool. My youngest niece (2 at the time...now 3) would have really enjoyed it and I talked a lot about it with my sister. Imagine our surprise to see the entire area closed off. There were no signs or notices or anything...just the "screens" and "tarps" (or whatever those things are) and no mention of the closure or when it would reopen. It looked like a fairly extensive refurbishment was going on and I was caught off guard. Usually, SOMETHING is mentioned here on the DisBoards or Facebook.

So, does anyone know what they are doing or how long it will be closed? We are going back in April and I am currently booked at Jambo, but we are thinking about going back to Kidani. This wouldn't be a deal-breaker since my kids are 11 and 9 and would rather be in the pool anyways.

would like to know as well as we are staying at Kidani May 2-10 and my 2 boys would have a blast in that splash area.

Oh no this will be my grandson's first trip and we were hoping for some nice weather so he could have fun in that area.

I know when the DIS caught wind that WL was doing refurbishments to their pool these last few months it got posted pretty quickly what the building permits stated would be done and how long the permits were issued for. I may have to look over that huge thread to see how they found that.

Same here. Have a trip planned for December and weather permitting, I was hoping to spend time here with my 2 and 3 year olds. Im going to be upset if it is still closed

OP did you say you left on 10/25 ? According to the DIS closures page the play area was scheduled to be closed 9/22-10/25.

So now we need to find out from someone there now if t has reopened ??

I too will be there very soon and part of my selecting AK K was for the play area. If I get a chance I will try to call the holes today see if they will comment.

I called down - they transferred me to the front desk (or they claimed it was the front desk) and the individual said the play area is open. So let's hope he is correct.
