Utimate Park Hopper at Downtown Disney Hotel?

Hi,
I read on this site that Ultimate Park Hoppers could be purchased if you stay at a Downtown Disney Hotel but I don't know how to purchase them. I called 407-WDISNEY and they say only Disney Resorts. I called the hotel (Doubletree Suites) and they don't know. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tracy

I'm about 99.9% certain you can only get UPHs at Disney Resorts. I don't think you can get them anywhere else, even if the hotel is on Disney property, but isn't a resort.

According to www.AllEarsNet.com UPH tickets are also available to guests of the Swan/Dolphin and the Downtown Disney Hotels.

My best "guess" is that you can only receive the advance purchase price if you go through CRO/WDTC and stay at one of the Disney resorts. I believe that you must buy UPH tickets at check in for the DD Hotels, but must pay gate price.

Try calling the Doubletree Hotel back - be sure you are dialing the actual hotel and not a national 800 numbr for reservations. Ask for the Front Desk, not reservations. The staff there will be the ones most likely to know what the actual policy is as well as the process.

Best wishes -

Each of the Downtown Disney Hotels has an official mini-Disney store inside. Ultimate Park Hopper tickets can be purchased there. As was stated, I don't believe you'll be able to get the advance purchase discount.

If you want to find out specifically, when you call the hotel, ask to be transferred to the in-house Disney store.

I also read that if you get the UPH at the Swan/Dolphin, you will not be able to use your room key as a credit card in the parks. That is the only down side for us, as we are considering staying there next year, but love the convenience as the room key being "everything" :(

while on the subject of purchasing tickets, i've got a stumper for everyone. here's my story: i won a free ticket about 16 years ago at MK for a free day at either MK or EP (cuz those were the only 2 parks they had at the time). i just returned home from disney and while i was there, i asked guest services about turning in the 'paper' ticket for a current one (because i knew about the magnetic strip on the back to get in and use in FP machines). well, she had NO clue what to do and told me to take it to guest relations IN MK! now, we had planned on 2 days in MK (but cut it to 1 cuz of that little storm named 'charley') and that would've been fine....BUT, i decided to use the one ticket i bought for that day instead of getting the credit on it  (dummy me!). now, i am pretty sure i can use this ticket to get into any of the other parks, but where should i go to get the ticket exchanged? i don't really want to call disney (are they really going to exchange it over the phone? don't think so!) so i was thinking of going to GR in DTD when we arrived. (not sure where we are staying next year...might stay at DTD hotel......) any suggestions? ideas? input?
thanks!!

Regardless of whether or not you purchase Ultimate Park Hoppers, your key to the room is just that- your key to the room. You can only charge to the room within the Swan and Dolphin.

No stumper! :) You just happened across either a CM who didn't know how to do the conversion, or was too lazy to do so.

You have two options. One is a dollar credit, the other is a ticket conversion.

The dollar credit is NOT a wise choice to make. They will look up in a big notebook exactly what you paid for your ticket, and give you prorated credit. So, if you paid $100 for a 4 day pass, and you have 2 days left, you'll only receive a $50 credit. Which won't get you much towards current admission. But it is an option nonetheless.

Conversion can be done at any major park ticket window, or guest relations at the parks or at Downtown Disney (Marketplace and/or West Side). They will take your old admission and give you a ticket with the magnetic strip. It will be valid to be used at all of the parks.

thanks Dan! :wave2:
the GR girl at ASMo didn't even speak very good english....so, i guess that was part of the problem. i was planning to go to DTD and get an updated ticket. there was NO way i was planning to take the dollar amount......the price for a day's admission when i won the ticket was $19 (adult!) but, i didn't want to waste time at the park window either....i want to get it squared away before our day at the park.
your info was extremely helpful. i think i just got a CM who was not informed and wasn't interested in helping  but, i thank u so very much for your help!!

No, she just happened to go to Guest Services instead of Guest Relations. There is a big difference in what each knows and can do. ;)

Sorry, Dan :(

She has one option - ticket conversion. Since the original ticket was free, it carries no dollar value. What she needs to do is take it to any Guest Relations location at the theme parks or DTD and have it exchanged for a magnetic strip ticket. That ticket she gets back will allow her admission to any of the 4 parks.

Oh GoldenOldie. I have much to learn! :(

I'm still trying though!!! :wave::wave2:

i was looking for a more precise location cuz i didn't want to be running around DTD....but, i read elsewhere in marketplace it's near once upon a toy......or somewhere near there......thanks for the help everyone!!:wave2:

Thanks for your help everyone. I talked to the front desk at the Doubletree and they said that Disney just recently (within the last two months) stopped offering UPH to guests of Downtown Disney hotels. She mentioned some irate guests saying that they read on the internet that they could get them, but she said they no longer could get them for guests for their hotel.
Thanks again,
Tracy

The Guest Relations offices at DTD are located in the Marketplace and in West Side.

The Marketplace location is between the Once Upon A Toy shop and the Summer Sands shop on the Rainforest Cafe end of the Marketplace. This is an actual office that you walk into. It is set in the back side of the Summer Sands building directly in front of the restrooms.

The West Side location is at the Pleasure Island end, just past the AMC Theaters. Walk straight down with PI on your right and AMC Theaters on your left and you will see it right in front of you. It is a white building that says "information" on it. This is a Guest Relations window like the parks have.
