I am still up hours after my bedtime with a pressure/pain that is much better after I drank a gallon of water, took pyridium and two percocet. The pain was very sudden onset, but I have urinary frequency and urgency, and I am urinating blood. I have had one UTI in my life and I had a fever with that and only slight discomfort. DH doesn't want to take me to the ER cuz he wants to sleep for work tomorrow and I don't think I can drive myself. I have to work tomorrow, but I don't think I can.

I will see Dr tomorrow if no better, but I was wondering what you all think.

Thanks. :scared:

If you are urinating blood and having tremendous pain, I would go to the ER. That way they can properly diagnose you, and provide you with faster fluids on a drip, and stronger pain medication if it is needed. I have had 18+ kidney stones over the past 3 years or so, and got to the point where I recognized the pain immediately. I know the ER nurses were always concerned, but even more so if there was blood in my urine as that is a sign of infection. If the blood is visible to you, there is definitely a fair amount in there. They always advised me to come in for fluids and pain medication until the stone was flushed (and sent me home with a Vicodin ES prescription each time.)

I hope you feel better soon! Kidney stone pain is HORRIBLE. :(
