How long does it take to get UT tickets via email? They said 24 hours, it's been 36, and my tickets for tomorrow morning haven't shown up yet. It's a tad annoying... they can charge my credit card within the blink of an eye after I purchase the tickets, but they can't manage to get them emailed any sooner than... how long?

Yesterday and today were both holidays. I wouldn't expect anything to process until after they open tomorrow

It's Christmas Day! They are probably closed today, as is almost everywhere else.
NOTHING here is closed, holiday or no. It's a madhouse... and they were "working" enough to already charge my credit card...

Seriously? Nothing closed on Xmas? Wow - some unrealistic and selfish expectations here. The credit card company processed the charge - it went into the system most likely automatically when you placed the order. Perhaps next time you may want to place an order more than a few hours prior to needing your tickets when it falls on a major holiday when nearly all retail establishments are closed. UT is a great reliable company who have served many on this board. You’re not going to get any sympathy here.

Snarky people on the boards tonight. I ASKED a QUESTION. FYI, I have used UT several times, quite happily, which is why I asked how long it takes to get tickets by email, because I've only purchased for USPS delivery before. And to be fair, everything all along Rt 192 and in the Disney/IDrive area was open on Christmas Eve day and all were open and busy on Christmas Day, too. It never dawned on me that a company that makes its living from selling tickets to tourists, whose website said nothing about being closed on Christmas but that it does electronic delivery within 24 hours, might not be doing business at the busiest time of their selling year. They have been "open" enough on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to acknowledge my order, welcome me to their email list, charge my credit card twice, and send three marketing emails. I guess that getting electronic gift certificates from LLBean and Barnes and Noble within minutes of placing the order gave me a false sense of security in e-retail.

So happy that you have "Christmas cheer" for a company and not for someone asking a question.

I got my email 1 minute after order confirmation (so basically immediately) on November 23rd, which was a Saturday. I just checked their site for business hours:
  • Mon 8 AM–8 PM Eastern
  • Tue 8 AM–8 PM Eastern
  • Wed 8 AM–8 PM Eastern
  • Thu 8 AM–8 PM Eastern
  • Fri 8 AM–8 PM Eastern
  • Sat 8 AM–4 PM Eastern
  • Sun 8 AM–4 PM Eastern

*Closed: Jan. 1, May 25, July 4, Sept. 7, Nov. 26, Nov. 27, Dec. 25, Jan. 1

So it looks like you got caught in a holiday closure, hopefully you'll get it all sorted today.

The reason you are getting snark back is due to you assuming they have folks sitting at a desk charging credit cards... When that's not how that works. It's all automated by a company they use for purchases. Also to sound so self righteous about (where are my tickets!!! No other places are closed!!!l) like.. where do you live ? Only thing open around me are gas stations and Chinese restaurants.

Also to buy tickets on a holiday week 3 days before you need them? Why didn't you just use Disney's website that is fully automated and links right away? Alot of things here that made you sound rude paired with your lack of planning to give proper time . I'm sorry but I can't feel bad for you . Also they are open today and you can call to ask them directly.

Thanks for the information. I never would have thought to look on the "contact us" page to discover they were closed on 12/25. I guess I figured if they were taking orders on 12/24 with a 24 hour delivery we'd get them within that timeframe. When I called in early December to ask about email delivery I was told they would be open all of Christmas week.

Further information... these are Universal tickets, not Disney tickets, and due to my husband's reconstructed knee we didn't buy them in advance, not knowing if he could handle the touring or not- which is why I called to see if they would be open. Actually, the tickets just came through, so obviously held up by them being closed yesterday... which, if it'd been posted someplace obvious, I would have seen and could have avoided panic. So... off to see Harry Potter, I guess!!

Except it isn't anywhere close to their "busiest time of year". LOL Most people know better than to try and buy their tickets online the day before Christmas.

Happy it worked out for you and the tickets came through.

This thread is a good reminder to the people who buy tickets close to use to make sure to leave a bit of extra time....just in case there's an issue...especially near a holiday.

You realize all of that is automated, no human interaction, don't you?

No, I didn't. Part of the problem, I guess.
Wow. Ok. I truly thought everyone knew that. Lol
All charging online is automated. All of it
So now you know
Opting in to email lists too
Lesson to all here is if you have to wait till last minute to buy you suck it up and spend the few extra dollars to buy direct
It's what I do
The online broker savings is too little to risk not having tickets in time

I assume you must have ordered multi-day park-to-park tickets because a single day park-to-park ticket that is not blacked out for this time of year would only save $7 from the gate price. Then again for 2 tickets that might be enough for a can of Who Hash (yes you can get that at IoA) ;)

I think this thread could be moved to the Universal board. Not seeing much Disney here.

Leebee you got a bit of snark for me because you've been around this forum a long time too, with that time & experience here I assumed you would know it was automated. Your rather indignant attitude expecting somebody to be working a major holiday to serve your last minute needs really shocked me. So I'm sorry for the snark, but there is that old saying "A lack of planning on your part doesn’t constitute an emergency on mine." You've planned this trip for a months, asked a lot of great questions but I don't understand why you would order your tickets at the last minute. I hope the rest of your trip is wonderful!
