I cannot find anything on their website about when the tickets they are currently selling will expire. Are they selling old stock tickets that expire at the end of 2018 or new tickets that expire at the end of 2019? How do you know if it isn't stated on their website?

I don't see it either. You could call them---they are as nice as can be. I love your profile picture by the way. Lovely couple--good DVC ad! HAHA.

Thank you. The picture is of our 25th wedding anniversary at HHI.
I figured I could call them but thought I'd check here first. I need a couple of 2019 tickets, but I won't be buying them until later this year. I'm just trying to decide whether to buy them before the tier pricing happens or not. I'm just trying to figure out how much they will cost if I do decide to buy them this year.

Yes, I think you would want to buy them before the tier pricing, and since Iger is announcing it out & about, it sounds like it is coming soon.
I read somewhere June, but have not seen that verified.

This came from wdwinfo.com:
"At the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, the Walt Disney Company’s CEO Bob Iger stated that he expects Disney theme parks to introduce multi-day peak tickets by the end of the year."
I just assumed that introducing the tickets by the end of the year meant that information would be given out close to the end of the year and then they would go into effect next year. But I guess by the end of the year could mean June.
I need a 2-day PH and a 3-day PH. It appears it would be cheaper to go through UT for the 3-day, but it's cheaper to go through Disney for the 2-day.

Yes, I read that article too. It concludes with:
"For anyone out there hoping that the pricing structure would go away in the future, you shouldn’t hold your breath because Iger also stated, “You’ll see more of that in the years ahead.”

See more of what? Once they tier ticket pricing, they would only make pricing adjustments, not revert back to non-tiered pricing. I seriously wonder what he means by that cryptic warning. haha.
We do know they are finding new ways to raise prices and charge for things, and of course there are myriad unmined opportunities.
But that specific phrase in regard to ticket pricing doesn't seem to make sense, unless he means other parks will as well.
To repeat myself, once they institute that policy, they are not going back.
Maybe he is just warning us.

Anyway, it will certainly be interesting to see when the low pricing (less crowded) times will be by Disney's determination.
Of course, it will be set for low pricing is when they want people to come, which I think means they determined it to be less crowded.
I agree with you, June is not the end of the year. I don't know where I read June. It was probably speculation on a thread somewhere with ToyStory Land opening June 30.

Have you called UT yet?

I believe that if you scroll down to the bottom of the page (after selecting a ticket), the expiration can be found under "Key Points." I thought tickets had to be activated by December 31, 2018.

I choose a 3 day Magic Your Way Ticket. It's near the bottom of the page;
Now Choose between E-Ticket or Real Ticket (RFID) Delivery!

Admission to one or more of the following Walt Disney World® Resort attractions for each day of the ticket - 3 Days (1 Theme Park per day; nohopping, no water parks) and ticket expires 14 days after the date of the first use:
This ticket includes Disney's FastPass+, as do all tickets for the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Key Points:
  • Refund Policy
Mailed Ticket: 365-Day Return Policy - 95% of the item(s) order amount will be refunded back to you. Yup, we are friendly frogs. The 5% fee will cover the delivery, handling and the processing fees associated with accepting payment and fulfilling the order. The tickets must be unused, unsigned and not damaged. They cannot have been attached to a Disney profile or been activated. Expired tickets, or any ticket not currently sold on this site, are non-refundable. Please contact our customer service team so we can give you instructions to make the process run smoothly.

  • Expiration
Ticket expires 14 days after the date of the first use - you will activate the ticket upon entry into your first Walt Disney World® Resort Theme Park. Days do not have to be used consecutively. Ticket must be activated by December 31, 2018 for admission. After December 31, 2018, you must exchange this ticket at Guest Services for admission (additional gate price may apply)

Yes.
However-

Below is what I have just found on their site -

(I've just posted the top and bottom of the page.)

I have no idea where the date "Jan. 14, 2019" comes into play.

I see nothing like what you guys are posting. I put a 3-day PH in my cart, chose shipping options, and then the next page is Delivery and Payment. There is nothing on that page that says Refund Policy or Expiration.

What all of you are posting sounds like these tickets are the old ones that expire at the end of 2018 (except for the weird January date). Definitely don't want those since we are probably going Thanksgiving 2019.

This is so confusing. I just told my DH that all of this almost makes me want to sell our DVC. Planning a trip shouldn't be this difficult!

I don’t trust the disclaimer, so I don’t trust which tickets (pre or post increase) they are selling.
This is to say...
Absolutely, call them and ask.

Two things: the reason June/July makes sense for the official announcement is that is when packages for 2019 will go on sale. I expect the tiers to be in place for the beginning of 2019, so they have to have it ready by June/July of this year.

If the 3-day is cheaper at UT, but the 2-day isn't, my guess is they still have the old 3-day tickets available that expire this year, but they are sold out of the 2-day and the 2-day tickets would expire 2019.

As others said, it looks like you need to call to make sure you get next year's tickets.

Also, when comparing the ticket prices, keep in mind that the UT price includes taxes while the WDW price does not.

That used to be true (Disney didn't mention the tax until "checkout,")
but the more recent Disney prices pages DO include tax if you simply look at the bottom of the page.

Below is a detail of the Disney World Ticket order page on the web at:

While many 2017 vintage tickets remain on their shelves, Undercover Tourist advertises that ticket use must commence by Dec. 31, 2018 but you might get tickets good through 2019 in your shipment.

When just a few 2017 vintage tickets are left, UT will advertise a Dec. 31, 2019 start-use-by date but may have "bargains" sold separately here and there with selected day and hopping combinations and a Dec. 31, 2018 start-use-by date.

Also, when comparing the ticket prices, keep in mind that the UT price includes taxes while the WDW price does not.

Also, to reduce this confusion, if you click on the ticket price links I provide
in the DIS "All About Tickets" Sticky.
(copied below)
they access Disney ticket price pages from AllEars.net,
and those listings DO include
the Disney prices with tax very prominently.

There is never a discount on a 1-day or a 2-day, so that's why those are higher.

I just called UT. I was told that if you order a physical ticket, it will expire on December 31, 2018. If you order an e-ticket, it will expire on December 31, 2019. When I said I may go ahead and order and hope that Disney will honor the ticket even after the tiered pricing with multi-day tickets happens, she said Disney would honor it. Of course, she isn't working for Disney. I do think I will go ahead and order a 3-day PH, but I think I'll wait a little while and get it closer to June. I'll order the 2-day PH from Disney right before June. That should be the safest way to go.
