Hope someone remembers how this works...what's the usual m.o. for new resort announcements & the general time frame/procedure involved in purchases.

Wondering if you make a dp/deposit when announced w/balance due upon completion or whether you pay in full up front.

Is it safe to assume that add-on's to existing contract need to follow original UY if only purchasing small amount of points...25+ or 50?

Do they typically offer any incentives @ time of initial offering?

Bumping and registering as I'm interested in how this might work as well. I called my guide today, but he was evasive. Can't say I blame him however.

There is no consistent answer to your questions as DVC has handled things in a variety of ways in the past. SSR was unique in that it began sales prior to it's opening and no points were available from those purchases until the specific building purchased was ready for occupancy. DVC did offer the use of developer points to be used prior to that time for some purchases.

When VB, HH and BWV opened sales at OKW was still ongoing and DVC even had 4 resorts for sale for a few years. I don't recall any special incentives for those resorts except that early VB buyers did get free park passes when using points at OKW. When HH opened, the free passes were discontinued as an incentive. VWL was open when sales began and points couldn't even be used until the resort had been open for a couple of months. BCV began sales when VWL sold out - but still prior to the resort opening and I do not recall what, if any, incentives were available. When DVC added more buildings at OKW and added rooms at BWV where the sales offices had been located, they did give existing members first opportunity to purchase in advance of the general public.

I do expect that the next DVC resort will be announced before SSR sells out and also expect that sales won't begin until SSR is pretty well sold out even if the resort is not yet open. Ideally, it would be best I suppose if the next resort opened on the day SSR sales ended. :smooth:

Stay Tuned! :)

Thanks, had a feeling that there'd be no pattern.

Still curious as to whether you have to pay, in full, upfront before they break ground on the resort? Especially since construction time would probably be @ least a year or so.
