USPS tracking question-- "out for delivery"

When you are following the tracking of your package (in this case from Amazon) to your house--doesn't it usually say "out for delivery" when it is in your town? I am following my tracking and it says (twice--two different hours), "out for delivery" both posted Oct. 12. The problem is it says that it's out for delivery in NJ. I live in Texas!! Is there something I should do or is this normal?

the tracking site isn't 100% current at each time... just look later on when it updates again.. it shouldn't be that its on a local truck in NJ... someone jsut keyed it in wrong..

You could always give them call to help clear up the mistake.

I agree with the previous poster. Their tracking isn't always accurate. I have shipped hundreds of times via USPS from Ebay experience. Sometimes I still have 'billing info recieved' and it is delivered. You may want to call which I have done in the past when I was a sender & checking on a package. Sometimes they can't help you, but normally they can.

OMG, that tracking is soooo never right. I still have a package out for delivery since June from Yankee Candle. In fact I just checked and it still is. I called YC after 3 weeks and they sent me another package, but they never update that tracking, its so annoying!

USPS "tracking" is only tracking when you use Express Mail service. Most "tracking" is delivery confirmation, which is really just that - confirmation of delivery. I've received packages that never had any information on the USPS system except delivery, and that was all that they were required to have since that was the service purchased.
